People always claim the English language is the hardest to learn. So, in comparison, how hard is it to learn the Russian Language? On paper it looks like a beast. Almost makes the Chinese and Japanese Language whimper.

Russian is my first language. I'm in my 20's and even to this day, I struggle with it a little. There are a lot of exceptions and rules to learn (probably because I've never been in Russian schools) and spelling words are harder than English words. From my experience, I think Russian is a lot harder than English. But I think if you find a Russian native speaker and teacher, they'll do a great job of teaching you.

Oh and by the way, the Chinese and Japanese languages are beasts to me!!! :)

I think all the other people have no idea what they are talking about. I studied the Russian Language on and off for years and once you learn the Cyrillic alphabet you should be OK. It is spelled how it sounds, there are hardly any exceptions (not like English). The grammar is pretty rigid so you just go according to the rules. Of course you will make mistakes but most Russians I know are nice and they will help you. Have fun.

who the hell told u that english is the hardest MAN!! i'm egyptian ...and it's a piece of cake for me!!
ok...i'll try to answer to u as an english speaker not as an arab:
i learnd russian in the russian center in cairo, egypt...so..russian...was HHHHHHHHAAAAARRRRRRDDD ...in the begining..it took like 4 months for me to get used to it and i had 3 lessons per week.... i learnd from the absolute zero...but now i have russian friends and i communicate with them in russian....
they have their own alphabet "cryllic" and...they have strange phonetics......u'll suffer with some letters in russian specially "bI"
but i think it's not the hardest ...my language is so much harder "arabic"
and i think japanese and chinese are even harder than arabic....
any way u'll get used to whatever language u wanna learn...the point is ...how much time will u bear that language!!
goooood luck
