Several books of the bible hold "keys" to revelation such as Daniel, Isaiah etc. Yes you are right reading the whole Bible is essential to understanding the book of Revelation.

Revelations and Daniel are books of the same cloth, the same type. Both were written so as to be read by the believers and understood, yet read by the non-believers or captors, in Daniel's case, and not understood. This kept the writers and users of these books out of trouble with the overpowering cultures they were living within. At first glance these two books mean nothing important to the reader. But, on further study and understanding, they are important messages.
Revelations was penned when Christians were threatened by Rome.
Daniel was written during a time when King Nebuchadnezzar took Daniel and others as captives in Babylon.
Both books were written by a people who could easily have been put to death for the writings.
These books are not "Too hard to understand." They just take a bit of effort.

People have a hard time understanding the book of Revelation because it uses alot of symbolism.
I put in alot of effort to study the Bible, a couple of hours a day, in fact. But, although the Second Coming is vital, I am more interested, and I seek more, in subjects of comfort for the those suffering from pain, in guidance for new believers, and for God's perfect, unfailing love.
Because that is my calling.
Perhaps your calling is evangelism, in which you need to know in depth the facts of the Second Coming. Maybe that is why you are so deeply interested in it, you seek answers, and you have an understanding.
Don't make the mistake of being fluffed up in your Bible knowledge. Understand that perhaps God is revealing the End Times to you, so you can go out and teach others.
Think of that as a gift...... if you continue to criticize others in their inability to understand such a complex book, God will discipline you.
A prayer for humility might be in order. I'm telling you this, because -- as you know -- it is Believer's responsibility to help guide other Believers and hold them accountable.
God Bless.

I think you mean the book of Revelation as there is no book of Revolation in the Bible. Revelation is only God showing someone in the Bible differen revelations that could happen in the future like when Jesus cames back or what will happen on earth.

Revelation should always be read through the light of the Gospel. A Christian (notice i'm not speaking about someone reading it just as a critical reader or scholar) always looks for the Gospel to enlighten his/her reading of anything in the Bible.
Keep in mind that most of the Apocalypse were prophecies about what was happening to the early christians and might actually not be about future events but as a way John used to encourage and keep the faith of the early communities and christians that became the first martyrs.
Again, if this question was asked from a non believers (or textual criticism scholar) point of view i guess i would have a very different answer.

By the way what did you mean by none believers, believers of what. When trying to understand, the book of Revelation you have to study at the history and truly be honest with yourself, this key moment " the Jews were chosen by god and at the time of Jesus they rejected him as the son of god, why would god give them all this knowledge and they would fail to know the Messiah, Jesus was a martyr for the Jews. He was the sacrificial lamb that they gave the Romans. So there is no way that the father of Jesus is the god of Abraham. So I think you should approch this subject with caution.

There are so many different interpretations of Revelations by different Christian sects. Some believe it has already been fulfilled. Some believe it is yet to be fulfilled. Some believe it is a little of both.
I have studied so many different takes on what the symbolic creatures are and each of those different approaches CAN back things up to an extent with previous scriptures. From the JW version to the Evangelical version to the Catholic version to the one popular among most non-denominational biblical scholars.
It would be interesting to hear what YOUR easy understanding of Revealtions has "revealed". Perhaps you should share that.

Yes Revelations is hard to understand by itself
unlike some of the other books in the Bible you cannot take too much out of context for it is being used to fit into your agenda or to pull out something to prove for your point of view
Also it is not up to you to determine if someone is studying their Bible--for so many of us do not have the theological skills to understand what it is that we are studying. --this is why one should use your study guides and go to bible studies in hopes to have a greater understanding.

You are correct to say that the preceding books of the Bible are necessary to understanding the last book; Sacred Scripture must be studied and considered in its entirety and not in 'disembodied' parts, however large or small.
I will go further. Scripture is the Word of God in its written form and cannot be fully understand apart from the whole of God's Revelation to Man i.e. the Word of God as orally passed on by the Apostles to their successors, and guided by the Holy Spirit, all as promised by Christ.

I love the book of revelation. I think it is very easy to understand but there are difficult parts to unless you study much and use the holy ghost when you read.
I am a Mormon and we have a few pages of translation(by translation i mean understanding not adding to the book) that make some sense of very complex parts of revelations. I would check this out it you like revelation.
It is in the pearl of great price. You can this from and missionary or www.lds.org.
