If God is all POWERFUL and created EVERYTHING, i'm sure he can EASILY take something away or destroy it. But why hasnt he erased the devil from whom he created with his power!?
I think the devil did more than just rebel against GOD. If he wanted to overthrow GOD, he needed something powerful that would equal or even outpower GODs abilities. My theory is that the devil STOLE something when he left GODs kingdom that made him ALMOST equal to GOD.
Notice around, youll see all of GODs creation ...like trees, birds, people, animals, and all are beautiful. And also, youll notice destruction, sickness and death.... and all seem to be associated with the coming of the antiChrist.
These led me to believe that devil stole GODs ability to DESTROY! Maybe in the form of a ring or something. But it makes sense, GOD cant simply kill the devil because he just CANNOT. GOD will keep on creating and the devil will keep on destroying. But the devil cant destroy GOD, because the devil is ALOMST HIS equal

Your misunderstanding of Satan is clearly the result of too much Tolkien. Satan has not stolen anything from God, nor could he. God keeps Satan on a very short leash. He can only act to the extent that God allows him. Satan is very aware of his ultimate destruction and so he focuses his energies on pursuits where he feels he can make gains. An example is the ridiculous number of false-religions he has set-up in an attempt to obfuscate man's ability to know and understand the one true God and Eternal One. God is obviously aware of Satans every move and thought. Take the catholic church for example and their borderline fanaticism of Mary worship. They show Mary holding what appears to be "baby Jesus" and there's a nimbus radiating around Mary's head. This is straight out of ancient Babylonian cultic practices, hence in Revelation we read "Mystery Babylon". In China, they have the exact same "mother-godchild" thing with the exact same set-up. In China she is called Ming-shoo (with attendant nimbus.) A defected Chinese Christian minister escaped China in 1978 with scrolls dating back to the 6th century A.D. which revealed the visitation there of Vatican emissaries who introduced the Babylonian adopted religious system of catholicism in its infancy to the Chinese Mandarins. They almost immediately incorporated all of Mary worship into their religious practices and observances. It has been ongoing ever since. Over the millenia, Satan has set-up more false religions than earth has spoken languages. Alot of people ask, "If God sees all of this going on, then why doesn't He put a stop to it?" The answer is simple: Matthew 13-40. It says it all. God's timeline is not on ours, nor is it subject to our understanding of it. On the other hand , Satan the Great Imitator of God, remains committed in his efforts to deceive and muddy the waters through appeals to our sinful nature. He does have startling success at times, especially when he is able to pull-off tragedies like the Jim Jones Guyana cult mass suicide in 1978. Note of interest- Jim Jones was a Jesuit trained theologian at the Vatican. If I had to recommend something in this world that would give you an imperfect but better understanding of how Satan really operates (and this may seem nuts), rent the movie "Devil's Advocate" with Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino if you haven't already seen it. If you can look past all the special effects distractions and concentrate on the dialogue as much as possible, you will never look at the world and Satan's involvement in it the same way again. Rest assured, Satan was judged and condemned the moment Christ died on the Roman cross. Satan is powerful, yes. But his power isn't so much defined by his not being bound by natural laws as it is in the extremely powerful and seemingly irresistable seductive allure of his persuasive tongue. No man on earth is any match for that. God on the other hand verbally reduces Satan to ashes every time he enters into God's presence before the Throne. In the presence of that kind of Power, there is no defense. Period.

Your story started off pretty good, but when you said that God and the devil were almost "equal," you totally lost me. God is omnipotent and all-knowing - you have that part right. God created all things - you also have that right. But God and Satan cannot have compatible powers. God gives man a choice because God is a very loving and fair God. You know God has the power to make anybody and everybody believe in Him, but He'd rather have His creation love Him back out of their own will. God has the power to do anything he wants--if someone disobeys Him, all He has to do is think it, but He is not about destroying - He's about judgment. God has the power to destroy, but a lot of good people would die. The Father waits for people to turn their hearts back to Him. Lost souls are found everyday, and that's possible because God doesn't want to kill His children: It hurts God when His children hurt. Read about the 99 sheep and the lost 1. It's great the He has all of these wonderful, saved people, but He will go to the ends of the earth to search for that one lost soul and will rejoice in it. However, there's one thing God can't do that the devil can--that's FAIL. The devil is NOT powerful: people just choose to turn to things that "appear" good.

I could go on and on about this subject and back it up with Biblical references, but I'll stop right here and let it sink in...

I certainly do not believe that the devil is equal to God, he began as an angel MADE by God, and then like a spoiled child he rebelled. God lets him exist, because He wants us to choose for ourselves who we follow. But the devils end is absolute. The reason for all the death and destruction is the devil's anger at God.

So, basically, you're saying that Satan stole God's mojo? Interesting theory... but not mentioned anywhere in any scritpures I've ever read. If God was omnipotent, he wouldn't have allowed Satan to do anything that he has done. So, the story is inconsistent, and therefore, probably not based upon fact. Hence, I'm agnostic.

Doesn't the bible have tons of examples where God destroys? I think the devil is more like a tool for God to use to test humans. Kind of like putting the tree of knowledge of good and evil in front of adam and eve. However, w/o the devil, adam/eve wouldn't be tempted to touch the tree and its fruit.

Anyways, if you want to get really symbolic, the devil could be more like a part that everyone has which is evil and we need to be able to overcome that evil in order to enter into God's kindom. Kinda like entrance exams. :-).

God cannot kill the devil because they are one and the same. God shows all the signs of classic schizophrenia. The devil is merely his destructive side which contrasts with his creative side and his loving side. The holy ghost, father, and son.

Either that or it's all nonsense.

I pick the latter.

no i dont think that is true
the reason God did not destroy the devil is because the devil is temptation and God wants to test us and and see if we will listen to the devil or to God that is why he was created

Usually I don't think, it gives me a headache. And now that you got all that weight off your chest, I'm sure you feel much better. One thing that you forgot to mention is- - - what's the difference ? Who cares ? Gods and devils are only in the imaginations of the superstitious anyway.
