The speed at which it gets dark is directly proportional to how far out in the boon docks you car has quit running.....

I would hypothesize that it is the same as the speed of light. Since light passes through darkness at a predetermined rate, would it not be evident that dark will resume at the same rate that light leaves it? That would mean that the speed of dark is the same as the speed of light!

It recedes at the speed of light. Basically dark is the absence of light or more appropriately the inverse of the amount of light.

Dark is the absence of light so I'd say it moves as fast as light makes it move.

Say... light leaves a room...as soon as the light is gone dark swallows that room...but as soon as it returns the dark is gone again.

Therefore dark does not control itself--it's controlled by light.

I'll tell you when you invent a darklight (opposite of flashlight) that can send out beams of dark we can measure.
