No, you are not wrong for wanting to not be around people who ultimately make you feel like crap. I do not, however, think you should hole up in the house all weekend..unless you just need a break. Better to get out and do stuff with friends, etc. then to just hide out thinking about all the junk the family is doing to you.

Absolutely not, nobody should judge you. Even if you are horrible, who cares. If your family disrespects you and treats you badly, and you want to ignore phone calls or contact for a weekend...then by all means, do so.

It may help you keep your sanity, plus, it is your time, do what you wish with it. Sometimes I get to where I just want to be left alone for a while, so I will turn off my cell phone off and just ignore everything and everyone.

Sometimes it is good to get away for a while and relax.

Yes, you are quite wrong. No sense to lock yourself up in the house all weekend. Go out, see a movie, get your mind off things. Stewing isn't doing anything but letting them win.

People will always judge you, learn to ignore it and press on and you'll feel a whole lot better.

no, we all need our private time, just a little warning though, make sure your answereing machine is on, few years back, was playing at being princess for a day, would not answere the phone, had machine turned down as not to hear, later regretted that, there had been a accident, they were trying to reach me, felt guilty for awhile over it. But you deserve a break from the strings that pull at us

I agree with the person who said that if you do this more than 1-2 times per year there is something wrong. Everyone needs a getaway once in a while, but if you do it constantly you are running from your problems. Make sure you tell them what you are doing.

Noone has the right to judge anyone else, but it is human nature to do so. You definitly have the right to go away for a weekend and avoid contact, but you should at least tell them you are doing so, and that you just need some time away so they dont worry about you.

How old are you? You're living with your parents or your wife/kids? Honestly, this is a tough question to ans. I mean, I don't know you. But one thing for sure, never leave your home without your parents' blessings. 'Cos, dude, life is tough. When you are in trouble, your family has to be there to deal with your problem.

no..you're not wrong. U just need some time 2 yourself and they need to understand that. BUT you should also tell them whats wrong. Tell them not to judge you and to let u live your own life. But dont say it mean...just explain to them ur feelings..

No, they should try to understand what thier behavior is doing to you. Maybe that will give them an inkling. I'd talk to them though. It's not good to keep things in, it's better for you to get it off your chest.
