Yes and no.
Chuck Liddell is the most popular fighter in the world right now. This is great for the UFC and for the sport of MMA. Every fight he has breaks an attendance or PPV record, so he is far and away MMA finest asset.
There are, however, fighters in MMA right now who are better fighters than Chuck. Pound for pound, Chuck toward the top of the list, but I feel that these fighters are all superior in skill to the Iceman:
Fedor Emelianenko (best in the world period)
Georges St. Pierre (will have to prove it, he has a tough division)
Mauricio Shogun Rua (his only loss is to a heavyweight)
CroCop (he might actually fight Chuck in the future, so we might get an answer to this question)
These four gents, I believe, are all better fighters than Chuck Liddell. Chuck however is the funnest to watch (I haven't missed a fight of his in like 3 years) and that's why he's my favorite.

That's kind of subjective. Best fighter in his weight class would even be vague. Maybe there's an amazing fighter that didn't get the opportunities afforded to Liddell that will retire less decorated and much less famous. He's definitely a good fighter. I wouldn't want to fight him. He could make me squeal like a prepubescent girl. So if the question was 'Could Chuck Liddell make you squeal like a prepubescent girl?" I would say, yes. This question, I'd say, um, I guess. Sure. Why not.

His record is great and he is not been defeated for a long time as it stands right now, but I wouldnt say he's the best.
You cant really compare him to all the fighters in MMA right now, there are different factors to consider, weight class and what not.
He's real frickin good though! I love to watch him fight.

In all seriousness, they might've further Chuck in with Slayer taking part in Raining Blood stay and then have DMX carry out Intro stay and Shogun nonetheless might have thoroughly obliterated Chuck. Shogun grew to become into/is purely on an entire different point.

In his division it is obvious. But the UFC 205lbs is not that competetive. He has not fought many great fighters other Randy Couture, I'm not saying Tito or Rampage or some of the others are not good, but they are not great either But he is a great fighter so I'll give him that and he could beat any 205 in the world probably.

Definately not. But for his weight he is a top competitor. I think Rampage is a better fighter than mr. Iceman as we have allerady seen once. But overall he is a great fighter but not the best. Just think Fedor??!!!

UFC been fattinin him up with average fighters.
IMO best fighter is someone whos proved their worth on both ground and stand-up against same calibre fighters.
