I am reading a book right now that hypothesizes that religion has held mankind back in such a way that it is highly possible that we would have been at the point of technology that we are at now, back in the 1600's. I think it is quite possible that this is so. What do you think about this and where do you think we would be now, in technological terms if that were the case? In Islam, God encourages scientists to serve mankind, specially medicine. God has never held us back from improving our lives our abstained us from technology. Do not blame God if the fanatics are busy fighting and not advancing. Sam Harris seem to be a non-believer, you might be too. If you do not believe in God, why not leave us in peace? Will you accept if we impose our believes on you?
