There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammed where he cursed Jews and Christians because they built their churches near grave yards.

I thought that prophet Muhammad gave respect to other religions.

Is there any harm in building a church near a grave yeard?

He must have thought he was bright, everyone else was dhimmi.

He seemed to like animal symbolism too.
Something about "from the trunks of elephants"
oops sorry that was groucho marx.

I believe he was ok, though. Maybe a little ocs, obsessive compulsory syndrome.

Maybe there is no harm building a church near a grave yard but the hadith says that the place of worship was built on the graveyard. Next time read correctly before you post another peace loving question.

Abu Hurairah narrated: "The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'May Allah curse Jews and Christians for they turned the graves of their Prophets into places of worship'.'' (Muslim Bukhari and Muslim)

He never cursed anyone, he advises people only. He did respect those two religions. No such thing that this incident took place. He only had problems with some Jews who tried to challenged him, as if he was a threat. He kept his calm inspite of it. Christians never crossed his way. The Quran (God) stated that: you will find compassion from Christians.... Islamic history does not mention any conflict with them.
What a load of......

he did respect other religions and prophets of Allah , but what he was talking about is forbidding Muslims from building masjed ON grave yards of holy men then use it as second god or something not ordinary graves , that would be having partners with Allah which is forbidden in Islam , and he didn't curse them only showed that god cursed them and hated what they did
MUHAMMAD had a Jew neighbor who used to put garbage even urinate and more in his way , he could have got him killed or even kicked away if he wanted to , but he didn't he just prayed for god to guide him
only when the Jew of AL-MADINA betrayed him and sold him to his enemies , broke their promise to him ( as always ) he didn't curse them , just warned Muslims from them and ask them not to have any commitments with Jew cuz they never ever commit to any promise
and please when you put a question like that put your source to let everybody know , or else all what should be said is just made up

He doesn´t. You should buy a copy of the Koran and read it. Not to become a Muslim but to become educated on a topic you seem interested in.

Muhammad calls ¨Jews and Christians ¨children of the book.

He sees both as followers of the One God. He just thinks thay don´t pray enough and follow the Old Testament Laws well enough

Seeing that Muhammad was off his rocker in the first place lets go back to the fact that he was not accepting of other religions when he died, the Koran does in fact have the biggest controversy of other religions because of the fact that he tells them to be peaceful and the next book tells them to kill the infidels, or non believers. Muhammad was nothing more than man with hallucinations that he was seeing an angels, similar to the Mormons.

In the beginning, Mohammad respected Christians and Jews; in fact, he had friendly Jewish neighbors in Medina for many years and Christians did protect his early followers from the vengeance of the Pagans in Mecca.
The big problem came when the Jews in Medina betrayed him twice; he had them all killed.
Mohammad didn't seem to have any quarrels with Christians; except that they refused to accept his teachings.

i beleive he cursed them because they built it on top of a muslim graveyard although i am not 100% sure the story goes something like that but in islam you are supposed to have respect for the dead and builiding a place of worship next to a grave yard would not be respectful

Mohammed liked Jews & Christians at first, but after they didn't accept him as a prophet better/over the Torah or Holy Bible (tested according to Torah, Bible scripture), he didn't like them anymore.

Mohammed said that Jesus isn't the Son of God and the Jews boast they killed Jesus on the cross, but they didn't, no Allah raised Him up. Then he said that it was blasphemy worthy of hell to add partners with Allah.

Mohammad had good things to say about Christians & Jews at first, then he had bad things to say about Christians & Jews. So, some Muslims prefer to read what he first wrote, and some Muslims prefer to read what he last wrote.

yes we respect all religions ,
Muslims believe in One God. The God of the Christians and the Jews.

5:69] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the converts, and the Christians; any of them who (1) believe in GOD and (2) believe in the Last Day, and (3) lead a righteous life, have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

the Qur’an does not teach us to hate them. Muslims are to treat Jews and Christians—indeed, all people—with respect, kindness, and justice while making their closest friends and allies among fellow Muslims.

for about that hadith , i didn't get it right , and thanks E.T. for qouting it down.
he was warning muslims not to do that.
