Best fighters would be the one who that off the gloves and willing to fight on the pavement. UFC and Pride are sport with rules, so really you cannot find who is the better fighter.
Old school: combat have no rules. With rules, you can not go to the limit on ones ability.

I'm not really sure.
I heard you have to have a pretty high rank to enter the Pride tournament. UFCs are easier to enter.
A lot of top UFC fighters enter the Pride.
Best fighters? They're basically the same types of tournament. But I'd rather enter Pride though. You get more money and attention.

That would be the matter of weightclass and personal preference. A best fighter would be someone well rounded of course. But MMA can't really prove who is the best. Its at the moment in the ring that changes. MMA is so versitle, even a BJJ blackbelt can get submitted by a kickboxer and vice versa.
