I have a muslim friend who can't quite grasp the understanding of the Holy Trinity being one. He also has a problem excepting the fact of Jeus being the begotten Son of God, and he believes that Christians tend to worship Jesus and put him before our Father.

Millions have pondered this mystery.

Saint Patrick used a shamrock (a three leaf clover) as a teaching tool with the Irish.

There is a story told about St Augustine:

Augustine was walking along the seashore trying to figure out the mystery of the Holy Trinity and came up to a little boy. The boy was trying to pour the ocean into a hole in the sand with a seashell. Augustine told the boy what he was doing was impossible. Then the little boy told Augustine that it is also impossible for the mind of man to try to understand the mystery of the Holy Trinity. The little boy turned into an angel and disappeared.

The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is shared by most Christian denominations including Roman and Orthodox Catholics, Lutherans, Anglicans, Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Pentecostals and Episcopalians.

With love in Christ.

No one can grasp the understanding of the Holy Trinity; it's a thing of faith with no reason involved.
Some Muslims will believe all the negatives of Christianity but in reality, Jesus never asked anyone to worship him.
I know of no Christians who put God before the Father; however if some Christians believe that Jesus and the father are equal then that's another discussion.

Yes, the three great desert religions that claim the same roots, Christianity, Islam and the Jewish traditions are the most successful of the one God religions. What we know today as Christianity is a long tradition that went through a combination of changes around the time of Jesus. Many religions of pantheism combined and created the Christian tradition of thinking about God.
The view of God as three different phenomena are signs that before Christ religion was understood in many different manifestations or traditions. The holy Spirit is one way to precieve God, the Son is another way and the Father is another way to think of God, so Christianity is a combination of many ways of looking at and perceiving our God.
The idea that Christianity is the one and only religion is a human interpretation that does not stand up to any informed investigation of human history.
Humans in general need a God to believe in, praise and to be obedient to. So why would the universe create a human with a basic instinct to need a God and believe in a God if their wasn't a God to rely on? This would be like creating corn without a Sun to nuture it. Life is not disconnected from reality.

John 1:1..especially verse 14. Jesus is the Word which become flesh. Jesus was here in a human form. He is example and teacher to us how to have a personal relationship with God. When He went to heaven, He gave His Spirit ( Holy Spirit ) to guide us. He is the same God, three different God heads. : )

One hand has fingers but it's still one hand. It is written that the Father gave Jesus life in Himself, even as the Father already had life in Himself. Therefore, Jesus was a finger off the hand, given life in Himself. But it's still the same Hand. One God. Jesus was God as man. God praying to God cause Jesus walked as a man does.

There is God and the Holy spirit is how God talks to you and tells you right from wrong in your heart, and Jesus was God on earth because God had to come down to earth to show there was a God so people could know who he was and actually believe in him and thats the only way he could save us is coming down here and actually knowing what we go through in fighting satans schemes

This is how it was explained to me, it's very elementary but gets the basic point across. It's like three different pieces of the same pie. They are all separate and individual, but all the same pie.
That might help him get the basic concept.
