A soup spoon has a round shape and it's shallow. A tablespoon has a rounded end that comes to a bit of a blunt point on the end and it's got a deeper base. Also, a "tea" spoon, (like for iced tea) has the same spoon base as the teaspoon, but the handle is longer for putting into glasses of iced tea for stirring. Hope that helps.

Table spoon has an oval shape and a soup spoon is more circular. Also a table spoon is a little flatter than a soup spoon.

Tablespoons are for serving vegetables. They are brought to table for that purpose. They are slightly larger than soup spoons, so that people can take generous helpings.
Nowadays one thinks of soup spoons as rounded, but this is very modern. The traditional form of soup spoon is large -- too large to think of putting in your mouth, which is how the tradition of drinking from the side of it arose -- in the UK, anyway. Elsewhere in Europe the soup spoon is tipped delicately towards the lips. It is a handy way of picking out Brits in a Continental restaurant. They always drink their soup from the side.

A dinner setting could include a serving spoon, draining spoon, soup spoon, desert spoon, tea/coffee spoon, sugar spoon, grapefruit spoon...that's about all I can think of for now. Soup spoons have a wide, shallow, round bowl.
A table spoon is a measurement, not an actual spoon.

A soup spoon has a rounded front, and can come in more than one size. A table spoon is a standard unit of measure and can only be one size.

a tablespoon is one that you use to eat solid foods on your plate. it is shaped like ovalate to fit your mouth. while a soup spoon is used to spoon your soap. it is round in shape and you sip from the side of the spoon and not by putting the spoon inside your mouth.
