I've baked potatoes in a slow cooker. I put them in on high and ignored them for about 4 hours and they were done. They might be done sooner, but I just haven't looked before 4 hours. I'd leave them in longer if I were cooking them on low. I crumpled a piece of foil and put it in the bottom to raise them off the bottom. Later I found a small metal rack in a Chinese grocery store which fits in the bottom. I've used it to bake apples and other things in the slow cooker. Good luck!

if you are cooking them w/ other things, put them in last . they will take about an hour on high. try putting some diced onion in them. ad a bit of water or chicken broth this will steam them and it will be the best baked potatoe you ever had . remember the salt and pepper use while cooking .after . cutdown the center. add shredded cheeze.and broil for a minute or two. also if you have a potatoe nail put it in this will make cooking time faster because it then cooks from the inside out.

When I use the slow cooker..I have to go by smell, look and softness. You just have to poke them with a thin knife or a long toothpick to see if the middle is soft.
You can cook anything pretty much in a slow cooker

I am not sure about this one.......I am sure you can I just don't know how.........i always do them in the microwave.......I wash and pierce them with a fork and then put them in a bowl with just a dab of water enough to cover the bottom of the bowl only and then put a plastic bag like a grocery bag around them and tie it loosly.......it steams them and they always turn out great......I am probably going to get scoffed at for this with the use of plastic in the microwave but I have done it for years and the potatoes turn out great! Good luck!
