space = relationship over

I have to agree with some of the others, the reasons she needs that space is for other guys. You sound young, and if you are under 25, you're too young to have a girlfriend anyway. They'll be plenty of time for steady girlfriends after you are done with college and are working in your career. By then, you'll have matured and know what you want out of life and what you want in a woman.

Don't call her anymore, and just start dating other girls. When I say date other girls, I DO NOT mean get another girlfriend, I mean casually date as many girls as you can. Don't lie to them and tell them that they're the only ones, either. Let them know that you are not exclusive. You'll be amazed at how hard the girls you date will try to compete for you. Just keep things casual, and use condoms 100% of the time!!

Also, don't spend a lot of money on these girls, it won't make them like you more and it certainly won't make them want to sleep with you. If you go to dinner, go dutch and make her pay her half or get separate checks. Anyone girl who won't go out with you because you won't pay for her is a golddigger, and you don't need her. Men and women are equal now, so there's no reason you should have to pay just because you're a man.

Hope this helps!

Hi,
If you really love her and desire to get her and the relationship back on the tracks, do give her space and be patient.

Honestly speaking, there is no time frame. It may be weeks or may be months or may be never.

If she does not get back to you in a few weeks and you feel like that you could not wait further, just start dating other girls whether casual or serious, it is up to you..

But do not call her or try to meet her. It takes two to communicate and she is simply not ready. When she is ready, she would herself contact you. Any attempt to contact her at this stage would lead to a break-up that you certainly do not want.

So be patient and wait. If you cannot wait further, just move on and date others, but do not disturb her. If you really move on and she happens to contact after that, you can then tell her politely that you have moved on..

Trust me. I am telling from my experience as I have spoiled a relationship out of impatience recently :)

Don't sit and wait. She has decided that she needs some space so give it to her. In the mean time do things that you enjoy doing that maybe you couldn't do while you were with her. Spend more time with the guys. If she see's that you are moving on she will either come running back or she won't care. Wouldn't you rather know now then later down the road when your feelings are more involved?

As long as it takes I am afraid

It may mean that she doesnt want to be with you any more, but it may not. I dont know your g/f

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do right now, the ball is in her court, so you just have to have a little patience and be supportive. She will thank you for that.

Also if you have been crowding her then this may be why she needs to take a little step back. i had a guy crowd me before and it felt suffocating so watch out that you are not doing this.

Good luck!

I'm sorry to tell you this but she does not want to be with you any more. When some one wants a break is because he or she is sick of seen that person. Is better if you realized it now that way you can move on just like she is. You think she is at home waiting for your phone call. Well she is not. You should go out and have fun.

it's easy to say 'as long as it takes' but i think you have to set yourself a time limit for it-how long you are willing to wait?

i know what it's like to be in this situation and how difficult it is to give someone you care about some space but if this is what your girlfriend needs and you want to be with her then give her the space.

however, after a reasonable amount of time, say two-three weeks, if you've not heard anything from your girlfriend then you could perhaps contact her and find out how she feels because otherwise it'll more than likely drive you crazy!

i think it's understandable if your girlfriend wants some space but, only for a certain amount of time, otherwise it's really unfair on you. perhaps use the time apart to think about what you really want from the relationship now too.

good luck and i hope things work out how you'd like them too :-)

Uh-o! That's not usually a good sign. Every one who's ever said that has gone away for good. Space means----you're not for me, in my vernacular.
If you want her back, don't call or contact her at all. And if she calls you, don't answer-let it go to voice mail for, say...a week after her first call. Because she will call you if you "give her her space." Especially if you really go away for awhile.
My Dad uses to say before he passed away:' How can I miss you if you never go away?" It always made me laugh, but it's a true statement. So leave her alone if that's what she wants.good luck. hope it turns out the way you want.

As long as it takes. Use this time to just work on yourself and put her to the side. I'm not saying forget about her - but you're better off using this free time to take care of any issues or problems you have than wait by the phone for her to call.

Do NOT call her - unless there is something spectacular or horrible going on (i.e. got a promotion, you're going to become an uncle, death in the family, car accident).

space is also another term for "trying to see other people" or "i'm seeing someone right now and when i realize that he/she's not good for me, then i'll let you know when you can come back into my life" give her all the time and space she wants. you should enjoy this opportunity. :) have fun!
