I want to get my daughter's hair braided professionally--the little tight braids all over the scalp. But I am afraid they will be ruined when she sleeps on them. Is there any way to keep that from happening? I'd like to have her hair braided on sunday so she can wear it to school on monday.

A close knit cap of any sort will do the trick.
When I had mine done, I used part of an old pantyhose.
It kept the braids from getting 'scuffed' while I slept.
A scarf would work too.

Use a bandana. I use to get my hair braided all the time and that's what I did. If it appears to be sticking up a little in the morning have her wet the braids and apply a small amount of pomade or wax. She could use gel too, but after a week it makes the scalp really itchy

no prob if you get the hair braided the way you say your going to it wont be a prob they stay nice and tight for at least three or four days and if your that worried but a bandana on her head or just hair spray it down it works!!!! best of luck

When I was little, I used to watch my older sisters set their hair at night and sleep on their rollers (ouch!) They would keep their hair from getting messed up while they slept by putting on a silky head scarf over their rollers. They put it around their head, tied it in the back by the neck, and slipped the point of the remaining flap of the scarf into the final tie of the knot.

(Another option would be to use a satin pillow case.)

Hope one of these does the trick!
