How do I bless my home with holy water (blessed at Easter Vigil)? Is this for the Priest to do by invite ... or can I do it on my own? If I can do it on my own, are there Prayers i should say, where to sprinkle water, how often is this done ... Thanks.

I've had my house blessed. Normally, we've had the priest do the first blessing, and he leaves a jar of holy water when he leaves. Then, we just use the water to sprinkle the doors and windows. Mom does this every time we have a bad storm rolling in.

You can do it on your own. I think the words used are "God, bless this house and keep those who dwell here safe."

Holy water is blessed at any time- it need not be from Easter Vigil.

You walk around the house, sprinkle a bit of the water in each room ( I know some people who do the same in HOTEL ROOMS for obvious reasons) You can say any prayer that comes to mind, such as " Lord, bless this house and all who dwell and visit here."

Ditto from the first answer......except if it's like a rosary or other sacramental. Then typically a deacon, priest, or bishop will bless it.

Forget the holy water, get you a big dose of the Holy Ghost.
