try applying for medicaid...but you should hurry up and do it before the baby gets it here so then when if you got approved before the baby is born they will pay for your pre-natal medical expenses and any prescriptions or prenatal vitamins that you'll need and they'll also pay for the medical bills after the baby is born and pay for a full year of the baby's medical expenses like when you take baby in to check ups throughout the year and any prescriptions the baby will need too

Inorder for you to be insured you would have to check in with your local medicaid office. It is not welfare. Its free insurance for expecting moms. However, it only lasts until you give birth then if you are under the age 21 you can see if you qualify for KIDMED. For your unborn child, as long as you are insured then he is insured. Now when he is born you will need medicaid, known as KIDMED and he will be insured until you find better insurance or until he reaches the age 21.

As a teenage mom, you will qualify for medicaid and so will your baby (at least for the first year, possibly longer I'm not sure about how long). There is also a program for children without insurance. Call your local health department and they can tell you who to talk to and which forms to fill out. You should qualify for medicaid and WIC. Good luck to you. And don't think your dad is being mean or anything If our daughter became pregnant then our insurance wouldn't cover it either. Good luck to you and your baby.

You will find that most if not all insurance companies will not insure an unborn child. I think they have to be at least 3 days old. If you are working after you have the baby, you can put her/him on your insurance.

you can apply for insurance through the government. Either Medicaid or Medicare (I get the two confused, one is for the elderly and one is for low income) although then they will go after you father for child support if you are under 21. Or you can apply for child health plus. This will give the child insurance, but not you. I hope this was helpful. I would go to your social services center and ask about your options.

your 'unborn' child is not considered a separate entity yet...until its born. right now, your child is 'you' as far as insurance goes. most insurance policies charge the mothers policy for the child for a certain amount of time after the birth. getting your child put on your daddy's insurance could be a huge pain in the butt. first you are going to have to prove that you live with him, and that you attend school, and that he pays more than half of the expenses of your child. your child has to be his dependent, which wont go over easily with your dads insurance company. they will most likely refer you to medicaid.

Medicaid, as everyone else has said. If you are on your dad's insurance, it should cover the birth part for you, but everything for the baby, from the minute she pops out, is separate charges not covered. Apply now, so that she will be covered from birth.

It's called medicaid. It covers you and your unborn baby. The baby will have medicaid even after he/she is born, but yours ends after birth.
Call the Department of Health, they'll give you more info. You might also qualify for WIC.

Many times individual coverage is cheaper than going through a group policy. Try Blue Cross or an agency like that. Also, contact your local United Way to see if any local agencies assist with this.

If you are on your Dad's insurance, the baby is automatically covered until he's born. Then he'll have to go on medicaid.
