Most of the time, when you open a bag of chips, the air would go out of it, and it would leave half of bag of chips and there is really nothing you can do other than eat them. Enjoy your chips while you can because there is nothing you can do about it now.

Start buying the smaller bags of potato chips and quit buying the larger bags ;)

The larger bags are waste of money to get half a bag ... plus they are not the healthiest food on the planet ... so you don't want to eat too many :D

Potato Chips are sold by weight, not by volume. The bags are filled to the exact weight before they leave the plant but settle during transportation.

Nothing. They are just always like that. There needs to be air in the bag so the chips don't all break. Everyone knows you never get a full bag, so what can you do really. . . .

i do nothing.... at first i always was upset about that fact. then i was told it has to do with atmospheric pressure. where the air expands a you go down toward sea level. thus the bag will look full if its at or near sea level and half empty when your up 10,000 ft above sea level or so.

try it out next time your heading up the mountain or down to the dock. keep the bag closed. the difference in feet above sea level may need to be in the thousands to see this effect.

good luck!

They package all chips by weight so it dont matter how empty the bag.

chips r not packed upto the brim, so as to allow or keep the required crispy quality. If u see such a package, then u can consider it to be local and of low quality.

That's the way its supposed to be they fill it half with air so that the chips don't get squished and crumbled.
