Yes. This is from Romans Chapter 1

24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

God hates the act but still loves the people. Just as we are called to love the person but hate the sin.

The bible teaches that God made us all in his image.

There are some verses in the bible (most in the old testament, but several in the new testament too) that can be interpreted as a prohibition against homosexuality. I'm sure a quick Google search will give you more than enough examples to satisfy your curiosity. However, people usually counter these examples by citing other prohibitions in the bible that are seen as completely absurd in this day and age (such as the instructions in the bible that it is a punishable offense to cut one's beard).

Even the most ardently religious biblical scholars will caution us that it is a mistake to interpret isolated bible verses literally; rather, they council us to interpret the bible as a whole, rather than picking bits and pieces that support whatever point we're trying to prove.

Unfortunately for gays, when taken as a whole, the bible makes it very difficult to accept the homosexual act as something that is acceptable in the eyes of God. The bible stresses family and marriage as second only to deference towards God in the heirarchy of social traits that make for a healthy, sustainable society.

In short, neither the old testament (the holy book of the Jews), the new testament (the holy book of the Christians), or the Koran (the holy book of the Muslims) sanctions homosexuality (and both the old testament and the Koran go an extra step and say that homosexuality is punishable by death).

On a brighter note, there are some organized religious sects who gladly accept homosexuals into their ranks, although most will still bar "practicing" homosexuals.

I am puzzled as to where "Saint Mark" says this. I will keep searching for myself.

As for the question "Is there any proof in the bible that god is in any form against gays" I'd have to say that 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 is one example of God's thoughts on many sinful acts, homosexual activities included.

"Neither the sexually immoral n or idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

The footnotes on this passage read as follows..... "male prostitutes nor homosexuals." Both expressions refer to homosexuals, the first to those who allow themselves to be used unnaturally, and the second to active homosexuals. Paul's warning is given against the background of incest, homosexuality, pederasty, and other unnatural sexual vices that were prevalent among the Greeks and Romans. Paul did not want Christianity confused with sects that permitted such things. " ....... (Taken from "The Ryrie Study Bible," New International Version)

This is just one case where homosexual acts are said to be wrong. There are more.

The bible can generally be used to prove damn near anything you wish.

During the first half of the twentieth century it was used to state that blacks weren't human, weren't as good as whites, were being punished because of something someone in the bible did, and/or should never be able to intermarry with whites.

Just a slight taste of the things "proven" using the bible.

It can be argued they were interpreting it incorrectly, but then again, so can any other interpretation.

Religion is based on faith. Faith is the acceptance of something as true without evidence. The biblical 'evidence' people use is basically to rationalize their own position - whether as a homophobe or not.

God is not against gay people. It says that a man should not lay with another man (Leviticus 18:22). It's similar with lying. God doesn't hate people who lie. He hates the sin, and loves the sinner. If only people could adopt this attitude... Everyone sins. EVERYONE. If you were going to go to hell for being gay, we would all be keeping you company. Jesus said "let him who is without sin cast the first stone".

I'm not making any judgements about who God is going to accept, and who he is going to reject. Life is hard enough just trying to be a good person, never mind playing at being God and judging people.

No...He is against homosexuality...not "gays". One of the laws God gave directly to Moses in Leviticus he states, "Do not lie down with a man as one lies down with a woman." Also, you might be familiar with the word somdomy? This word comes from Sodom and Gamora that were destroyed by God with fire and brimstone because they were "sinning greatly", and more detailed sexually. The angels who came down to check if it was really so bad and stayed at Lot's home made up their mind pretty quick when "all" of the men of the city tried to break down Lot's door to have sex with them.

There are also several scriptures in the New Testament about lesbians and sexual immorality (including homosexuality in general).

If you are trying to justify homosexuality without denying the truth of the Bible, you can't do it. The Bible is very very clear. Homosexuality is "detestable" to the Lord.

God Bless.

The same six "clobber passages" that often come up. Most of them are Old Testament; none describe the current situation of consensual couples. If anything, the story of David and Jonathan's friendship comes much closer, as does the Book of Ruth. In fact, David and Jonathan and the Book of Ruth are often read at Christian gay and lesbian unions, respectively.

In Genesis, Sodom(Sodomize) and Gomorrah was destroyed for their homosexuality. Read it, it talks about how the people of the town came to Lot's house looking for the men they seen go in so they could have sex with them.

In Romans it talks about how men would become lovers of men and that women would not be used for their natural use and how God will turn them over to a re probated mind, which mean to reject having no mercy and no grace. Mercy is not doing to us what we deserve, grace is giving to us what we don't deserve. So, I believe that God is against homosexuality. If God wanted to create us that way, then how would we reproduce.

Yes, there is.

But it certainly wasn't bad enough to make it into the Big 10. It's not half as bad as adultary. But we don't see ANYBODY making a big deal out of that. There are a lot more adulterers in this world than gay people.

Everyone needs to be worrying about their OWN sin. Not someone else's.
