I'm 21 and he's 34...we like each other a lot, and have a lot of fun together. Does age really matter? For anything? Even being friends?

If there is chemistry then age retreats back.
You both win...

Enjoy.

Anyone can be friends at any age level, but being romantically involved with a person whom is older mainly depends on the both parties involved. If he's very active and outgoing then maybe age won't be a factor, but if he's not so active and lively then maybe it will impact the relationship. For example. I have an aunt who's 20 yrs younger than her hubby. They have a wonderful life and have been happily married for umpteen yrs now. I, on the other hand, have a 10 yr age difference between me and hubby and it does impact our relationship because he has low energy levels, plus a sleep disorder (chronic insomnia). He wants to sleep and relax when I want to go out and be active !! So, again.. it depends on the individuals involved. I hope this helps !

What matters is how well you relate to each other. Do you enjoy each other's company? Do you have common interests? Do you share a sense of humour? If the answer to those questions is "yes", then why should age matter? Or another way of looking at it is this: do you want to allow other people's opinions about what constitutes a "proper" age span to keep the two of you apart?

Age does not matter in the case of friends, it CAN make a difference in relationships, if it's 10 or more years, because your in different stages of life. When the older person wants to start staying home more and wants to start doing less, the younger one isn't necessarily ready to do that yet. So, you wind up BOTH dissatisfied with things . So, I don't recommend it.

I think age matters for relationships, but not for friends. I personally wouldn't want too much more than a 5 year difference for a relationship.

I'm 33, and my fiancee is 22. We've been best friends for years, and we're getting married in June. Age is only a factor if you want it to be. We've never noticed.

Under those conditions no, it doesn't. Have a blast. One of the most exciting relationships I have ever had was with a woman 17 years older than me.

I'm not saying that it might not be worth it in your situation, but I'd be careful about it. That's a big age difference, and it will affect how much you two have in common.
