The 7-Up Bar. It had nothing to do with 7-Up the drink. It was a candy bar made up of several squares, each a sample of a candy like from a box of candy. There was a chocolate covered Brazil nut, a raspberry covered jell, a caramel, etc. I think it was a series of 7 little sample squares. There's a website devoted to discussion of discontinued candy. It's at www.oldtimecandy.com I went there a few years ago looking for my beloved &-Up bar, but alas, it's gone :-(

I have a jazz CD by a band called the Squirrel Nut Zippers and my favorite song is "Hot" -- just an FYI. I loved those suckers we used to get at track meets that were the shape of a flying saucer and they were a hard sour candy like Sweet Tarts and the stick they were on was hollow. Do you remember those? :O)

Hello:
There used to be a candy bar called a,"Clark bar,"and I haven't seen it in years. That was my favorite candy bar as a child because it tasted just like a Butterfinger candy bar. I also miss how big the candy bars USED to be,compared to how small they are now! *SIGHS*
Another thing I miss are the really big jaw breakers that you could find in different colors and there was also a brand of candy called,"Dip N Stick,"which was a hard white candy stick that you could suck on and then stick in these different pouches of powdered flavor candy which was grape, cherry, and I can't remember the other flavor, but this candy was HUGE in the late 1970's and mid 1980's. I also miss Big League Chew bubble gum,Hubba Bubba bubble gum,and does anyone else remember a bubble gum from the 1970's called,"Chewels?" It was this square shaped gum that had cherry stuff on the inside of it,and when you bit down on the gum,the cherry stuff on the indside of the gum would ooze out. Oh,how I miss the candy from the late 1970's and the 1980's!! *SIGHS* :-(

Well, they still have squirrels where I'm at.....love them!!! Big fan of spending my pennies on them when I was younger. Now they cost $.10.
One of my favorite candy bars when I was younger was an Oh Henry. I can't find those anymore.
Love the Baby Ruths though - that took Henry's place.

When I was growing up there was a jar of these lollipop things on the counter near the register. They were oval and had two different flavors of hard sugar, kind of like SweetTarts. And they only cost ten cents. I loved them, I'd always get the orange/lemon ones. I don't know what they were called or if they even exist any more.

I have found an awesome site to get free samples. I get all sorts of new products that haven’t even hit the market yet. It is kind of like a beta testing site for new products. They test everything from food to beauty samples to video games. Here is the site.
