I'm 22, college student, and been working at a movie theater for 2.5 months. I applied online to my friend's department store he works and they called me for an interview. I got the job and took the drug test yesterday.

Movie theater pays $7.50/hrly and like a bunch of the managers and current employees are transferring over to the new theater 15 minutes away. The department store job pays $8/hrly with possible raises on employee reviews. My friend's up to $8.25/hrly.

I'm working at the movies tonight...should I quit giving them my two weeks or stay there??

Honestly I think that you should take the move, at least with a department store there is a greater chance to move up. Also department stores give great customer service experience. If you like the movie theater then use the retail as your main job and the movie theater as your secondary. Try to set your schedule to fit your needs. Good luck!

Well if you think the department store is a better fit for you than by means give your 2 weeks notice to the movie theater. If not then stay. Sometimes more money isn't the best reason to pick a job. So it's up to you really

money is why we all go to work in the first place but when considering where to say i'd take it into consideration second. first you have to look at what would make you happier day in and day out? What schedules work best for your school? Also if the other managers are leaving to go elsewhere that's more room for advancement there anyway. you may have only been there a short time but it's long enough for them to evaluate your working habits. (how much you call in, customer service level, efficiency, that type of thing) if you're a good employee they'll notice that and be asking you to take over managment in no time. you know in your gut what's right. that's the one you should go with. good luck.

i think that you should move on. if this other job pays better than the job you have then you should definately take it.
