Is it stuck? There are some birds that build nests and live in chimneys. There is really nothing you can do to help without your parents being home to consent to a chimney sweep coming by if it is not living in there. It got in somehow and if it is meant to get out it will.
I know that the noise is annoying. Ask your parents when they get home to buy a cover for the chimney to keep this from happening again. It lets you burn fires, but keeps birds out.

If it's in the fireplace, catch it and throw it out the door (it can fly, and will be happy to go!). Or, if you can't do this, let it out of the fireplace and open the door to the outside. It's best to close the curtains on windows, unless you open the window. Then you can just keep chasing the bird (if you can't catch it) until it flies out the door or window.
Birds will usually head for a window because it looks like they can get out. You might be able to catch it when it is by the window.
It will be fine once it gets back outside.
It happens every spring, when some young fledgling doesn't know enough to avoid going down the chimney.

Call Animal Control. Their number should be in the front of the phone book. If not, dial for directory assistance (311 or 0) and ask to be connected to Animal Control.

Call an animal rescue organization. They will send someone out. Could be that the bird is trying to build a nest somewhere warm. Just please, don't like a fire. You will kill an innocent bird.

it will either die in there or find a way out (may come in the house through the fireplace).
