Why do stores have information posted that is incorrect...and that they don't even have/or do there?

I was in walmart earlier today to find out if they can just take my photo negitives and put them onto a cd...without printing the photos as well...i looked around the photo department...and i found that they could(according to the info i read)....so i asked an employee about it...and they tell me that they can't.....now why would you have this posted in reality you can't.....they lady told me "this is the first time we've had this question".....why have it posted at all...it could come up sometime....

I used to work at a Walmart in the photolab, and the simple answer is this... the management has a knack of not telling the employees what services they can or cannot do, and therefore when a customer comes in asking a question they're not familiar with, they look like an ***. Plain and simple. I hated working there the entire time I was there. It was a gong show. That being said, even if this employee was new, they should've known that, yes, they can take your negs and put them onto a CD without printing pictures. I did it all the time. It sounds like this employee was just being lazy and didn't care to take the time to find out if and how they do it.

The short answer is that the employee has never had to deal with this situation, and is dismissing you. It's easier for her to tell you that they dont do it, or have never done it, than to take the time to find the proper employee who actually handles it.
Walmart probably offers this service, or it may be a new service that they are now advertising, and the employees are just clueless.
I dont know where you're located, but if you're anywhere on the west coast, I'm amazed that you found a walmart employee who speaks english...
