Honestly, Life is too short to be in an insecure relationship. If he is being like this NOW... I really do think you should move on. Good luck

Of course he denies everything-especially if he said it and he thinks that it is true. And, if he had "better", then maybe he should go and find someone "better", since you are not the one he thinks is "better". He "better" go and find someone else-so do you. Maybe you will find a guy who "best" fit you.
Really, find another boyfriend because this one just told you, in no way shape or form, that you were not his best. And, he is running around, apologizing, because he realized that he did not mean to say it-out loud that is. But, he thought it, and he said it and he did meant what he said.
So, why would you still consider him as a boyfriend after this? If you stay with him, he will comment on other things-and then he may apologize. Or not.

You'll never be able to get over that comment about him having "better". You'll always feel like he's comparing you to someone else. C'mon, if this is as good as it gets with this guys character, do you really need to figure out if you should stay in this relationship? Even if the comment were true to him, a real gentleman would NEVER say it out loud. And then he adds insult to injury by lying about it! Honestly, if he truly cared about you, he wouldn't be doing ANYTHING, including carrying on a "friendship" with another female, knowing that it's making you uncomfortable. Instead, you would know instinctively that you are the one who comes first in his mind and heart. If you decide to give him more opportunities to hurt your feelings, well then, get comfortable with feeling pain.

Hi Sue
I do think you can do better. People do say what the mean as he has but then when the realize or it is pointed out for them that their behavior and words have been unkind they try to back track and say they didn't mean it or that you're just being too sensitive. They try to make it sound like you are the one with the problem not them.
Why are you with him? What does he bring to the relationship that's healthy? Not too much it sounds like.
Move on to greener pastures. there are may men out there better who will treat you better.

Sweetie, after a comment like that, I would say that he has no regard for your feelings and no respect for you. You'd be better off if you dumped him and found yourself a man who would respect you and love you for who you are.

YOU DON'T NEED TO BE WITH ANY ONE PUTTING YOU DOWN. YOU CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER THAN HIM. IF HE HAS A FEMALE FRIEND, IF HE IS NOT SLEEPING WITH HER NOW HE WILL BE. GOOD LUCK.
