Table salt is usually iodized, so no, its not appropriate. Go to the grocery store, they almost always carry sea salt, if not, a health food store will have it for sure. It's usually about $1/lb which will last you for many, many piercings.

If you can't get it, just use warm water.

NO Do NOT use Table salt. You can get Sea Salt at any grocery store, it's very popular in cooking. Just ask one of the store clerks. And if you can't find any sea salt whatsoever use bacitracin, which is like neosporin or any antibacterial ointment. And if you can't find that either go to the piercing place and ask the person who pierced you to give you a location where you can get sea salt or bacitracin. By the way bacitracin you can buy at any pharmacy and it's pretty cheap like 2 bucks. But like I said try the grocery store first and try to get sea salt, but do not use table salt it could cause a bad infection, since sea salt and table salt are different. Good Luck!!

sea salt is available at almost any grocery store. The best thing to do is call up the piercing parlor and ask them if they could recommend where to purchase it in your area. don't use table salt, there is a reason they told you SEA SALT.

Use the comparable volume as table salt. I now not use table salt different than interior the salt shaker as a condiment. the two Kosher Salt or Sea Salt tastes extra effective and the bigger crystals are much less volume consistent with degree than table salt it fairly is a solid ingredient. i come across making use of herbs, lemon zest, garlic, ginger and lemon juice as style enhancers plenty extra effective than loading up on salt.

Use what has been recommended. Table salt has iodine added and I would not recommended using it in place of sea salt.

Sea salt is not expensive and can be purchased at your local grocery store. Von's Save-On Safeway Ralph's Trader Joe's you name it, they all sell it.

Good luck.

I dont know where your piercing is but to be honest I've never heard of anyone using salt to clean any sort or break in the skin unless there wasnt anything better available.

Personally I'd get hold of some medicinal alcohol and gently rub it on about 2-3 times a day with cotton wool. Thats what I've always done with tattos/piercings/ nastier cuts n scrapes.
