#1 - Wear something you can play in.
#2 - Find out how formal the event is. If it is a college recital they are usually pretty formal, if it is a group recital, less formal, but still nice looking.

First, please learn how to spell. Second, for a recital absolutely make sure that you have comfortable shoes!!! Beyond that, make sure the shirt (or anything) you are wearing doesn't pull/too tight or won't pop open (buttons) with excessive movement of your bow-arm. Recitals are a formal event, so while necklaces are out because of the violin, go as dressy as possible. Take into consideration the temperature of the hall, but no sleeveless, unless you were going to wear a dress...

Black dress slacks, a black, silky camisole or shell top (no buttons! These may open or gap when you play!) and a black, sheer over-blouse that you wear open like a jacket. Also, do wear black pantyhose and dress shoes.
Practice fixing your hair the way you want to wear it for the recital. Also, practice with make up application and wear a black shirt to see if the colors work. You may need a touch more blush and eye definition, but you don't want to look too over made up.
And remember to smile when you take your bow!

If you don't wish to wear a dress, wear black slacks. These cannot be jeans or cords, but may be velvet or gabardine (ie: dress pants) with closed-toe black shoes (heel is good, but make sure it isn't uncomfortable while you play!) Wear a pretty blouse, tasteful hair. In other words, dress nice and black is always proper for a musician

You want to wear something dressy. If you don't wear dresses, what do you wear for a dressy dinner or church? What would you wear to a wedding? Pants can be dressy with the right blouse, jacket and acessories. Definately not jeans!

It should be formal and sophisticated.
Nothing flashy, skirts below the knee.
Dress pants are also a good idea.
Definitely no sleeveless tops.
Aim for a dark bottom and lighter top.
If you have long hair, pulling it back would also be a good idea.
As for shoes, make sure they're comfy and dark.
Sneakers, tennis shoes, and sandals are a bad idea.
Try for the flat bottom shoes.
