My friends is going to a Christian gathering called Spring Harvest - I've never heard of this but apparently it's massive. I was just wondering if anyone on here is going? (PS I'm not considering going or anything, I'm not a christian, I was just wondering)

There is no such thing as a Christian gathering called the Spring Harvest. It is not a Bible teaching. Neither is the pagan Easter.

By the way, I'm not going either.

My family are going. I'm not this year, but I have been several times in the past, and have sometimes worked there.

It's held at Butlins in Minehead and Skegness for several weeks over Easter time. Yeah, it's fun, and a good chance to meet some nice ppl. It's usually quite family orientated, although sometimes they do weeks which are more aimed at students. There are separate big events / meetings for adults, young ppl, and kids of different age-groups, which are usually really relevant to your stage of life. They also run sports competitions, a "market place" full of stalls, and stands for different organisations, and they put on evening events, bands, chat shows etc. There's all the usual Butlins entertainment too - great swimming pool, nearby beach, shops, crazy golf, or whatever they have at the time.

Yes it does exist, it is massive but worth checking out! There's one at Minehead (Somerset) and another somewhere can't remember - have a look at the website. It isn't the only one though, there's others like New Wine and Soul Survivor (which is amazing). You'd be surprised how much is going on in the Christian world!

Spring harvest is really good, my friend whom I am talking to on the phone at the moment to has been there loads of time and he says there are things to do other than all the Christian stuff so if it gets to heavy you can escape.

The spring Harvest actually originates from Ancient Egypt, the religion prior to Christianity, from the beginning of time untill 2000 years ago that is.
The harvest for Ancient Egypt was celebrated in the spring.

No I'm not going, but I used to work for a Christian organisation and everyone used to go on about how great it was - from teenagers to OAPs. Why not? The world is a richer place for all of our differences.

I'm going to the event at Minehead. It's absolutely brilliant. Lots of great sessions, excellent worship music etc.

went last 2 years too.

Great chance to spend time with likeminded people and to meet with God.

I'm thinking of going if there's one in Dorset this year. I've never been before but always been interested although I can be very disagreeable with big events. They usually have web sites with information on.
