What would you do??

Question

when your best friend hit his girlfriend?? And his girlfriend is pregnate!! Now they are mad at me because I hauled off and punched him in the face and told him to lay another hand on her and I'd knock his D I C K in the dirt!!! And I wasn't playing. and When he smack me across the face they didn't want me to fight him. But I got around themm and now everyone is mad at me and saying I was just looking for a fight! Hell HE smacked HIS girlfriend then smacked ME for defending her!!!!! What would you have done?? Do you think I had a right to defend her?? What should I do next??

Good for you. Punch him some more. Defending her was right the thing to do. You are not going to talk her out of leaving this asshole but maybe you could try. If all else fails then call the police or actually knock is little wang into the dirt.

First, of course you have the right, if not you who? But physical violence should not be fought with more violence. A co-worker of mine finally called the police on her abusive boy friend, yet when he made bail he attempted to kill her in result. So what can you do? I would still urge you to contact the police if for no other reason then to establish a file or record, but if that is not the route you want to take, friends work to. Tell as many people as possible, until anyone who cares is ready to do something. But one thing I do know is DO NOT GIVE UP, because you could literally be saving her life.

that's the problem, it never works. They make nice and you are the bad guy . You did good because you felt you needed to defend her. Next time , just ask her if she wants to leave. Don't get too involved . She is crazy for staying , but that's her problem. I'm sorry they are all mad at you . It's not your fault! You are a good friend

you might have gone too far in hitting him. it's right to defend her, but just step in and talk some sense into him. fighting causes more problems, hence everyone being mad at you. apologize to him, just say your emotions got the best of you and just tell him how you felt when he hit her. tell him all the reasons why that was wrong, and try to move on. if he's mature, he'll forgive you and work on trying to mend the relationship.

I would've done the same. Nobody should hit their mate. You did the right thing. You should just talk to them as you normally do. Just tell him you're sorry even though you not so this madness can pass over.

You're totally in the right - I would have beat his A S S too! If he hit me back I would have called the cops, he is obvivously not a mentally stable guy - I mean who hits a girl, let alone a pregnant girl!?

I think instead of hitting him you could have told him that that was not right and tell him in the best way you can that he should stop because not only he he could kill the baby he can seriously hurt her and he can go to jail and tell him u don't want to see your best friend in jail

Get some bear spray for your girlfriend and let her know that if some guy thinks he can use her for a punching bag, that she can use him for target practice. He's just lucky you didn't kick him in the balls right then and there.

How can you correct someone by hitting them back? I realize that you were just trying to defend your friend, but hitting him was no better than him hitting her. I hate the double standard that it's okay that girls can hit guys but guys can't hit girls, no one should hit anybody. I think you should stay away from abusive people so that you don't follow in their ways. =)
