Gore is involved in a business that sells carbon offsets. He will make money if his apocalyptic doomsday agenda is followed. He definitely has conflict of interest when speaking on global warming.
He's also a potential presidential candidate although I don't think he can compete with Hillary.
Who knows what other pies Gore has a thumb in? One thing for sure - if Gore gets his way there's going to be huge new energy taxes and new government bureaucracy. Many billions of dollars will change hands and it appears that Gore is looking to secure a share. No, I don't trust him.

Just take a look around. In the past 20 years, the situation has worsened almost beyond redemption. It is a HOT topic right now, and all the politicos are going to be getting on one side or the other of the issue.

The reason Gore never addressed Congress about global warming before now is that Congress was controlled by Republicans on the oil company payrolls.
And try not to be so cynical. Gore's political career is over--and he's spending his time--and money--trying to make a positive difference. An attitude we all should try to emulate.

Regardless of WHY he is doing it, I am just glad this is finally getting the attention it deserves.
It will take many years to recover from what we have done - what is going on now will continue even after we take drastic measures.
The media often reports on something that causes a stir in the community. Civilians are divided as to whether the weather (heh) is a consiparcy theory, of if it a real concern.
Since more and more drastic climate changes are occuring, civilians are realizing that this isn't just a bunch of hooey and are starting to take notice.
