The Qu'ran says the Jews said it...We slew the Messiah is the Qu'ran quoting the Jews wrong? or did the jews aknowledge Jesus is the Messiah, which I do not believe they have as yet done.

Raymond so far my best answer lol The Jews did not at the time of the Qu'ran or at the time of Jesus or now call Jesus the Messiah. Why would they glory in killing their own Messiah?

Muslimrose it is your argument that the Jews who killed whoever you think they killed believed that person to be their Messiah? The killers of Christ did not believe him to be their Messiah else why would they kill him? Is this the logic of the Qu'ran?

Theo are you in 4? 157? If it says Jews do not believe Jesus is the Messiah it contradicts the version I have... We as Chrisitans do realise Christ himself was a Jew but those who did kill him were not believers in him.

The Qur'an also points out that Jesus was neither killed nor crucified. Speaking of the Children of Israel, Allah faults their accusations against Mary as well as their claim that they killed Jesus.

*{That they rejected Faith; that they uttered against Mary a grave false charge;

And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger — they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! Those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.

Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.}* (An-Nisaa' 4:156-158)

Good point! *)* The Jews rejected Jesus as their Messiah.

4:157 And the Jews said, "We have killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of God" (They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, though it was made to appear that to him. Those that disagreed about him are full of doubt, with no knowledge to follow, only supposition; they certainly did not kill him.

This passage denying Jesus' actual death absorbs Gnostic teaching circulating around the large Mediteranean world, which holds that the flesh, the physical body, is evil. Therefore, a divine person like Jesus could not really die in the flesh, but would merely appear to do so, though Muhammad did not hold that Jesus was divine, but a prophet like himself. Thus, later Muslims who adopt an absolutist straight forward verses have difficulties in showing that Jesus traveled to Kashmir and was buried there (Sura 23:50). Though he belongs to the Ahmadiyyah sect, this shows how far revelation and the interpretation of revelations can go astray. But how can we blame Maulana Ali? After all, Muhammad went astray in Sura 4:157.

The Pharisees knew who Jesus was (See John chapter 3). They crucified Jesus the man, but no man can kill the Christ (the Messiah) except he kill the Christ that is within him through rejection of the witness of the Holy Spirit. Since Mohammad writes from ignorance it is not surprising that he believes that the Jews killed the Christ and envisions himself as the new Messiah. Mohammad is dead and entombed, but where is the body of Jesus?---in heaven, alive and well and sitting at the right hand of the Father making intercession for the sons and daughters of God.

The Jews didn"t Kill Jesus,It was the Romans,But every Man-
Woman was there By Proxy,Because our-my Sins Killed Him.
Thats why We all deserve Hell,But Jesus Paid the Ransom,A Pardon for Whoserver will,But You have to ask for it,

In conclusion A True Rependent Believer can"t be Anti-Semite,That is the Sin of the Ages.Nations and Indviduals
will have to give Account for this Grevious Sin,How can you Hate, and expect God to Forgive You of your Sins,Sadly Some "Christian" Denominations have this Sin hanging over their Head,

Yeah. It is obviously lies. The Jews never said Jesus was the messiah and who really cares if the Quran says the Jews thought he was?

My version says,

<157> There is not one of the People of the Book but will assuredly believe in him before his death, and on the Resurrection Day he will be a witness against them.
<158> And for the evildoing of those of Jewry, We have forbidden them certain good things that were permitted to them, and for their barring from God's way many,
<159> and for the taking usury, that they were prohibited, and consuming the wealth of the people in vanity; and We have prepared for the unbelievers among them a painful chastisement.

Actually the sentence structure is not very good, but I have to read this as saying there is not any of the Jews who will believe in him before his death. However that would not be true, because there was a large number of Jews that were supporters of Jesus before His death. Most were not.

The Quran alwasy refers to jesus as the messiah, no matter who is talking.

I think at the time of the Quran's recording, Jesus was referred to as the Messiah, so calling him "the messiah, jesus" was more to identify him than a statement of his divinity. However, Muslims DO believe that Jesus was a prophet, that Mary was a virgin, and that God took Jesus' soul rather than let him die on the cross.
