Your chances of locating him through this outlet are slim to none. Why don't you hire a private investigator and track him down that way? But after 17 years, why do you want to find him?
What good could possibly come out of this? What if he's moved on...has a wife..a family and the happiness he's always wanted? Do you realize what your re-entry in his life would mean? Not to mention his learning that he also has a 17 year old daughter he never knew existed?
Proceed cautiously with this, think long and hard about why you feel the need to contact him after all these years. Unless there's a logical reason, such as a medical emergency involving your child, I'd really let sleeping dogs lie.
