Bring nothing. You will then either have to give your clothes to charity or pay to send them home. Wear crappy clothes

Army issues you everything, and if you bring a bunch of crap, they throw it away. Bring one small bag with a change of clothes, and an address book of family and friends. You will get everything else you need issued, or you can buy it at the troop store when you get there.

There's not much they will let you bring. Your recruiter and/or your orders will tell you what's allowed. Anything else has to get shipped home or thrown away. About the only thing I brought with me many years ago was a roll of quarters for sodas and an occasional phone call.
Have fun.

Bring your shave kit, a towel you don't care about, a deck of cards, a roll of quarters, a paperback book, and the clothes you wear (jeans, a plain civilian shirt, crappy sneakers, a light jacket). Don't bother with much else, it's just more crap you'll have to carry from HQ to basic to AIT.
You will be issued pretty much everything else, whatever you find you "need" you can buy at the PX.
P.S. never volunteer for anything, never pass up the chance to sh*t, shower or sleep. stay away from losers and don't play around with the gear, we had 2 casualties in my basic company.

Yes. But I'd just take a little cheap digital watch with the basic functions. Make sure it has an alarm. You're going to want that.

don't forget your toothbrush and toothpaste, if you are a woman...take under ware. You wont be able to read any other books than what you are issued, so I wouldn't bother with that. I recommend that whatever you take with you, you organize in zip lock bags. They will dump everything you own out on the ground and you will have to pick it up.

ask your recruiter. Only bring what they say because the rest of the stuff they'll have you send home with in a day or two after you get there. Good luck.

About the only thing they will let you keep is a Bible. Everything else will be issued to you.
