Haha good luck with that one ! Have to keep him out of places where he can roll in the poop if you aren't going to keep him on his leash, and you can't bath him.

We buy and use regularly dog bath wipes. They work really well and have a nice smell. If company is coming we wipe him with one of the wipes and the pleasant smell will last several hours. Another trick is to spray them with Pro freshing spray (baby powder is nice) bought at Pets at Home, I think there are quite a few of these sprays on the market even for puppys.
Here is a tip when you bath him, when bathing put a couple of cups of vinegar solution into the final rinse, this helps to reduce the dog smell and mak the coat gleam. This applies to the bedding as well, a cup of vinegar in the final rinse, then when beding is dry sprinkle with Bicarbonate of soda (baking soda), vinegar and baking soda actually absorb odours.
Hope this helps

My dog also had a love of rolling in poo and he had sensitive skin as a puppy. There are sensitive skin puppy shampoos id recommend that as its horrible when they get poo on them. We still let him off but we always have a check round for poo first so if he goes near it we can get his attention with something else. We always take his fave snack on a walk to tempt him away from smelly things.

If it's fox poo he's been rolling in (dog's version of Chanel No. 5!!!), the only way to get rid of the smell is a bath. Believe it or not, the best way to get rid of the smell is to rub in tomato ketchup, then shampoo & rinse well. With a white dog, I think he might have a pinkish tinge for a while though!

Lol! my dog also likes to roll in poo so any info on how to stop this would be great! As for the smell I buy a spray from pets at home its fragrance free and hypo-allergenic just spray it on the dogs coat everyday when he stinks and brush it in, then reapply if your dog gets wet, it works wonders.

Hi,
Because westies do have a sensitive skin does not mean you cannot bath him.
For as long as you do use a proper veterinary licensed shampoo, you can bath him up to twice weekly. It is likely to even soothe the skin of your dog.
I recommend the following shampoo:

Best wishes

there are some spray on DRY WASH products out there on the market that seem to work well.. but in the mean time you can always use baby wipes on the little guy.. and to keep him from rolling in it.. you are going to have to first train him that it's a no no. take a soda can with a few rocks in it.. when you see him near the poo.. shake the can to make noise and say sternly NO ! bad ,,,, after he catches on,, you will be safe to let him run to his hearts desire.

well if he's not on a leash than no you can't keep him form rolling in pools....even if you yell at him he is most likely going to do it anyway.............they do have sented "doggy" wipes and they can be used in between bathing that should be fine because they are wiped over the fur....i have a dog with sensative skin and they work for her.....also baby wipes for sensative skin would work too.....

Wash him - buy a sensitive shampoo for dogs. Its a natural thing for dogs to do keep an eye on him when excercising him and tell him off for going to do it.
