I think you got it wrong. I think it's supposed to be "one is the fater of the other one's son" in which case it would be mother and father. The riddle is supposed to see if people will assume both are male. However, your interpretation isn't much of a riddle. It's a simple statement that you don't have to think about much. No offense intended. I'm just simply trying to help you get the wording right. I hope I did, otherwise if this was not the riddle you were trying to say, then I just feel like an A-hole.
