Okay, say that a girl (20) is mouthing another girl, (17) a minor in Arkansas and they fight, what would be the chances it would go to court if
a) the 20 year old threw the first punch or
b) the 17 year old threw the first punch?

probably neither , it's mutual combat / mutual assault , the courts would look at the 17 year old as being old enough to know better , also it never matters who throws the fist punch . throwing more then one punch or not trying to escape the fight would make the excuse of self defense not likely .

my guess , if there would be any charges it would be for disorderly conduct ON BOTH parties

it wont matter who hit who first she is still a minor so no matter what the 20 year old will most likely lost that trial

First hit rule and minor ,injuries if any. They probably not go to court ,unless bodily injury.

Arkansas, eh? Well, that would depend upon if the girl's father aka her uncle was there and how much malt liquor they had consumed.

Verbal provacation is no excuse for an assault by either party.
