My best friend had a baby over the weekend. What should have been the most joyus occasion has turned sad and disturbing. The baby passed away and the father has all the sudden decided he wants nothing to do with her and won't acknowledge her as the mother. He recorded the birth with her permission but now he has given the tape to his family. They are refusing to let her see it or have it and are making copies which is very upsetting to her. Its her personal business and shows parts of her she doesn't want the world to see. She has enough problems as it is right now but she doesn't want them to do this and show the tape around considering it was just for her and the father to see and show to people the both chose. She's really looking for opinions from other women on what to do and what they would do and even though it was his camcorder she wants to know if she has any grounds to stop the copy productions.

She has left him and talking to his family is hopeless, they blame her for the death and even refused to help pay for the funeral as well as the father

First of all sorry to hear this, please have my condolence to her and hopefully she feels better soon.... God know why this hap pend maybe there is a reason, for example now she knows that the father is a JERK and has no heart and so as his family, the recording it should be special for the parents ONLY not to everyone to showing off... You don't say the reasons why the baby die but if it was a health condition that it was going to be worst later then God didn't want for the baby to suffer because I don't think a mother will like to hurt the baby or even kill him/ her.. His family is STUPID to think that it is her fault... All I can suggest is for you to support your friend as much as you can and look for legal aid, that way you Can know what to do about this a lawyer will be able to help on this.. As for that Jerk and his family forget about them they are worth NOTHING... Just tell her that her baby is now an Angel that will be looking forward for her that he/ she is in a better place now... and that maybe it was better this way ( I know it sound bad ) but with a jerk like him as father ???? Anyways hope she can recover soon and she will never forget her baby because he/ she will be always in her heart.. She has my deepest sympathy, it's always hard for a parent to bury a child any any age and what you descibe is even more horrifying to experience at a time like this. As to your boyfriend disowning you I am sorry there are jerks out there and it appears to me he maybe going through depression due to the loss of your baby but to do as he has and giving that tape to his family, that is inexcusable. They should surrender that tape to you and all copies or file suit against them for the tape and half the funeral expenses you have an excellent case in court.

Oh, what a horrible situation!!! I am very sorry that the baby passed away, that breaks my heart.
Her husband's family sound pretty psycho. How could they blame her for the death?? I'm hoping this is just the way they grieve and that later on they'll realize that it's not her fault or anyone else's. I have no idea how she could get that tape back in her hands. I'm sorry I couldn't give you much advice.

First of all, I am so sorry about your friends loss. That is awful. Second of all, you have to realize that the father, also, had a serious loss. They both need to grieve. My suggestion
would be for her to First of all, call the babies father and explain what is going on......ask him to get involved and IF that doesnt work........call his family and ask them nicely to PLEASE NOT copy this tape because not only is it personal......it shows the birth of her baby that is no longer with them and the thought of all these tapes going around with her dead baby.......just breaks her heart. If they aren't kind enough to understand these things......then there is always a civil suit. She could sue them. I dont know IF she would win, but she would need to see a lawyer and they can let her know.
I say.....tell her to pray.......pray hard that these people would
have a wake up call and realize what a trauma this poor girl is going through already and see what additional unnecessary stress and pressure they are putting on her.
Also, remember that most people who see this tape are not going to see her "woman parts" as sexual but as the vehicle through which life was given.....

How tragic. What she needs to do is get a court order to have him hand over the tapes. Celebrities do it all the time and win. That's just flat-out wrong of him. See a lawyer and get his advice.

oh god yes...she is the mother of the deceased baby..that is her body on the tape....she has the rights!!! have her talk to a lawyer on a free consultation. That father of the baby is a real piece of work to do that, what a looser!!! I hope she has enough common sense to get rid of him now. sorry about her loss!!!

as for the father ,screw him she don't need him! I would try to talk 2 his mother or his family who wants to see the video .I would express the way i feel about the whole situation. Try the grandma.If this don't work try calling her local police and ask if charges can apply. I don't know to much when it comes 2 legal stuff. GOOD LUCK!

sue the jerk. this was a personal private tape recording and is extremely private because their baby passed. There is absolutely no reason why they should be doing this. The dad is an *** and should be brought to court asap.

WOW, this is terrible, these people are cruel, i hope she gets the tape back, they have no right to it, if they wont help with expenses why then do they want the tape

I think that she should take it to court because that is very wrong and i think that her baby dad should get a beat down
