csv files can be opened in notepad and wordpad, but if you want to see it in excel format, go to microsoft.com and search for Excel Viewer. It is a free program that will let you view Excel files.

Yes, I'd agree, download Open Office & you get a free suite almost identical to MS Office, including a spreadsheet which will open csv files no problem.

Locate your *.csv file in My Documents or Windows Explorer, and then right-click on it. This will give you a drop-down list of option. Click on "Open With" and then select Notepad from the list. All *.csv files are simple text (ASCII) files, and you can easily open them in either Notepad or WordPad, both of which come as standard installations with Vista, Windows XP, W98, etc.

A CSV is nothing more than a text file.
Comma Seperated Value, you can open it in note pad.
Or go download Open Office from http://www.openoffice.org/

Open Office Calc program, its a replacement for Excel and will open the file, edit and save in a number of formats. You can also download a tutorial but its identical to Excel.
