De Barking your dog is cruel and uncalled for. It is usually the lazy persons way out of a training problem so please do not do this to your little dog. Don't use a collar either - not teaching the dog anything apart from not to bark. what if you had an intruder....the dog would be too scared to bark!

Firstly does your dog have enough excercise/toys/attention/games? All of these things can cause lack of stimulation, and a bored dog is a barking dog. Try doing some basic obedience training with him. Doing this will strengthen your bond, and increase his reponsiveness to your commands. You will the need to teach him the 'quiet' command. A good trainer will help you with this, but advice cannot really be given over the internet as each dogs case is unique.

Worth getting it sorted out though! It will drive you mad otherwise!

Basic Training of the Puppy - Read here https://tr.im/chP70

The new puppy is certainly one of the most adorable and cuddly creatures that has ever been created. It is the most natural thing in the world to shower it with love and affection. However, at the same time it is important to realize that if you want to have a well trained adult dog, you need to begin the training process right away. The dog, like its related ancestor, the wolf, is a pack animal. One of the features of a pack is that it has a single dominant leader. Your new puppy is going to want that leader to be you, but if you do not assume that role from the very beginning, the puppy’s instincts will push him to become the leader.

The most important thing to remember about training the puppy during its first six months of life is that it must see you as the leader of the family pack. The essential thing is gaining the trust and the respect of the puppy from the beginning. You will not do this by allowing the puppy to do whatever it wants to do whenever it wants to do it. On the other hand, a certain amount of patience is required. Most people err in their early training by going to extremes one way or the other. Although you need to begin the basic training process at once, you can not expect your dog to do too much at first. Basic obedience training is fine and should include simple commands like sit, stay, and come. Remember that trying to teach the dog advanced obedience techniques when it is a puppy is much like trying to teach a five year old child algebra.

It is also important to restrain from cruel or abusive treatment of the puppy. You can not beat obedience into your dog, and it certainly is not going to engender feeling of respect and trust. House breaking is an area where this usually becomes a problem because of the anger that is triggered when the puppy fails and creates a mess inside the home. Although this issue must be addressed without anger, it most be addressed. If you allow the puppy to eliminate inside the house, it will continue to do so as an adult dog. The same thing is true of other destructive or dangerous behavior such as chewing and biting. Do not expect the puppy to grow out of it. You are going to need to train the puppy out of it, but you should do so firmly but with a sense of play and fun using positive reinforcement and lots of love and praise for good behavior.

There is all kind of training programs that you can take with your dog to teach him when it is appropriate to bark and when it is not. I would start there. I dont think that some of the shock collars and so on work real well, I havent had much luck with them, but you can always try those if you dont have any luck with dog training.

There is always the controversial procedure of debarking your dog if you cant stop his barking any other way. It is not really invasive on the dog and it does not hurt him any worse than a small cut would hurt you.

I will be happy to answer more questions about debarking if you would like it. but there is alot of things to consider before having it done.

simply shutting him up might make him quiet, but wont help the problem that is making hi bark.
dogs usually bark at nothing like that when they are bored, scared, or ignored a lot.

buy him some toys to distract him, make sure he has plenty of space to run around in.

If he has been doing it a long time, you might have to go the extra effort and actually train him back out of it.

failing that, you can get collars online or from pet stores that let go awful smells or tastes when a dog barks - it usually makes them stop after they associate the awful smell with their bark.
but make sure you have fixed the reason why he barks, or he will probably just take up some other bad habit.

There's this collar thing I 've seen on TV that comes with a remote control. Every time he barks you press the button and it releases a spray from the collar that the dog doesn't like and it supposed to make him stop barking.

My dog used to do the same thing and all we did was step up to her & make her sit. It helped get her mind off of whatever she was barking at because a lot of the time she just wanted attention. Really you just have to show them whose the boss and tell them no!!!
