Intelligent Design has no business being taught as science; however, I have no problem with it being taught as religion or philosophy. If the anti-evolutionists and Young earth theorists wish to participate in the scientific process, I have no problem with that, as long as they obey the rules of scientific method. Without the scientific method, it isn't science.
If Intelligent Design as it currently stands is presented AS SCIENCE, then it would be the beginning of the undermining of the entire scientific structure. In a way, it would be the return to a sort of Dark Ages, where certain scientific theories would be branded heresies, and their authors and adherents forced to recant the scientific theories. It would be the beginning of a new sort of Inquisition where the religious right ruled the curriculum of schools and where scientific cults might arise that preserve the scientific method in alternative or underground schools. As long as we do not descend to a theocracy, science has a chance to survive and flourish.
In the current world, the Intelligent Design theorists would have to publish in respectable scientific journals and they would have to be subject to peer review. It is when ID'ers show up as the members of the Boards of review that one will have to worry about the degradation of the content of scientific journals and texts.

I've learn data that ninety% of everybody on Earth feel in a god(s). I feel that demands to study someplace in tuition however possibly technological know-how categories are not the correct position to educate the area. And so far as technological know-how, I'm no longer certain how so much of that we must be instructing both. I used to be studying on Yahoo information the day before today that a few scientists now feel that the Grand Canyon is three occasions older then earlier believed. There is it sounds as if a brand new courting method that now suggests the Grand Canyon is a minimum of 17 million years historical. Who is correct, is the Grand Canyon roughly five.7 million years historical or is it greater than 17 million years historical? Perhaps we must simplest educate the medical process in technological know-how categories, and depart it at that so far as technological know-how is going, and educate smart layout in different categories, and permit the pupils make up their minds that's correct.

You pose an interesting question, thank you for it.
I was at one time a Christian, believing everything on faith and faith alone. Asking if "Intelligent Design" is a farce is very complex. If you are only looking to rile people with your question then by some of the answers you have achieved your goal today.
If you are interested in scientific findings related to the history of our planet dating to 6000 BCE then I will answer your question.
Just a little back ground for the uniformed, there was a civilization that appeared out of nowhere right after the Stone Age. Their history and culture form the basis of how we live today, we still use over 100 of their inventions in our everyday life.
They understood clearly that the earth was not the centre of the universe and have ancient maps that depict our solar system with Pluto included.
The gave us mathematics, agriculture, time keeping, laws, government, morals, bureaucracy, systems for distribution and the list goes on.
But most importantly, the answer to your question of “Intelligent Design”
Ancient text written in clay then fired into stone clearly depicts two serpents
entwined on either side of a full group that can only be described as DNA
have been discovered in writings related to their medical and science fields of the Sumerians.
This is scientific fact, not fiction. Their written history of creation pre-dates the Torah and the bible. The cosmology tales of the Sumerians refer to the genetic manufacture of the A.DAM, the created worker. The Torah clearly says in several places, the A.DAM was made in the image of the Gods. The Gods of the Torah we know are the edited readers digest version of the previous civilizations stories and tales....all back to Sumeria, the first civilization after the Deluge. In the time of the Hebrews the plural Gods turn into a singular God later in the Torah stories and if you know the Torah there are gaps as to when and why that can only be filled in with further study.
Most of what people understand of the Bible today, both in Judaism and outside Judaism is the miss translations from the ancient Hebrew into foreign languages that started with the Greeks-- i.e. example: the root of the concept of "chosen ones" was a miss translation that probably is the root of anti Semitism. The ancient Hebrew never meant "chosen" it meant "righteous ones", righteous meaning in those days: those that followed the Laws of the Torah, never any right or wrong connotation. The Greeks made many many miss translations, followed by the Romans, followed by the Germanic, and Romantic languages and then the Old English and then the English translations we now read in our time...each century made up concepts to fit their language models. It is always amazing to me how people today so simply accept current concept of language and meanings as the truth and forget that words, phrases, intonation change meaning over decades, centuries.
Peace

We teach the THEORY of evolution as if it were fact and science dances around the biggest inconsistency in it. By Darwin's teachings evolution is simple to the complex. looking at the plants and animals in the world would seem to support that. However, By his theory the genetic codes should play out in similar fashion but they don't. Moths have 600 base pairs of chromosomes whereas we have only 23 base pairs and our closest "relative" primates have 24 base pairs, a step down not up. If Darwin had the knowledge of the genome we have to day he wouldn't have embarrassed himself by proposing such ideas.

Do you consider the theory of evolution to be better than the Bible?
If yes, then please explain why there are several places around the world where there are human and dinosaur footprints in the same rock? (If you say they just look like human footprints, then why has no one every proclaimed that there was a dinosaur with human shaped feet! And why did some one not proclaim that some dinosaurs knew how to make moccasins?)

If the rr got control, there'd be an explosion of teen pregancy and scientific progress would jerk to a halt, as all fields of study would focus on verifying the myths in the Bible as opposed to using scientific methods to find out anything new. The only important thing would be learning how to worship and be a good servant.
Then maybe some intelligent country would take us over and put things to right.

I got news for you, Sunshine. The earth really is the center of the universe. Read up on astrophysics if you want to know why.
Anyhow, what's wrong with Intelligent Design? Do you even know what it is? Any fool can say it's stupid but are you smart enough say why?

Intelligent Design is supported by scientists its conclusions are based on examining the evidence. The problem is militant atheists cant stand to be challenged so they start calling names and ask for censorship the precious dogma of Darwinian Evolution has to be defended at all costs.

Angel of death? Death rules since the fall of the first Adam. Jesus defeated death by raising from the dead.
The last enemy to defeat is Death. Death is thrown into the Lake of Fire, the second death.
You don't think all creation is designed in an intelligent/ balanced order?

I am frightened by how religion affects the education system. Christian housewives who have no real perspective on the world homeschooling their kids, stunting their social growth, and spreading false information about science are going to be the downfall of this country.
We are retarding our kids and everyone seems to think that's normal. It really worries me. I honestly feel like I might eventually have to move to Europe. It's just ridiculous.
