There is this police officer in my town who advised a person to do something illegal against me. I have the proof of what the officer said and did.
I can't complain to the sheriff's office because they're taking the cop's side (obviously).
There is no "internal affairs" that I know of and the police wouldn't tell me where/how to go about filling a complaint anyway.

The crime commited is a serious one (stalking). The police had no discression. By law they were forced to arrest this person. They refused. (I found out later that the police were the ones who told this person to do what they did).

I can't contact the media because they are extremely pro law enforcement here.

So... what do I do? I don't want to let this go.

i would just let it go. they are all corrupt no matter who you talk to they all stick up for each other- you are talking about people who can shoot an Innocent person and say ooh i thought i seen a gun and get two weeks paid vacation. let it go! unless you got it on tape of the original conversation and the stalker its all hearsay...

If you have "real" proof, not just word of mouth, then you have several options. You can take it to the District Attorney's office, The state District Attorneys office, the Governor's office, The newspapers, talk to a civil attorney and collect damages...how's that for a beginning?

I would consider going to the district attorney. Or perhaps contact the Attorney General's office in your state.

If you cannot go to the police supervisor (above their head), then you have two options. Go to the district attorney (prosecutor).

Or file a civil lawsuit against the officer in court.

It apears you are in a small town. You are corect you are not able to do anything there.

You will have to go to a larger area and find an attorney to help you. Not much you can do otherwise. If you are not represented by an atorney no one will take you searious.

Good luck.

Call the FBI and tell them the police in your town are corrupt. Also, call the national media and a lawyer.

Talk to your county prosecuter's office. They may help you. Be careful who you talk to though. Sounds like one huge Pandora's box is about to be opened. Might be a good idea to tape record every conversation you have about this.
