i was with a guy for 2 years and he went to jail for a year and it was the hardest thing i ever had to deal with. we were so in love and it was like somebody just took that away from us. we talked about marriage and kids the whole nine but when he got out things change he got out of jail and did his own thing i was so crushed. but if you love this guy and you know he loves you wait for him you never know he may be the one. in my heart i still believe that mines is still the one so maybe one day he will come back to me.

I waited on my husband for 2 years, and I regret it. He came out and did the same thing over that go him put in jail in the first place. If you think this guy is for you, then make sure you check everything out about him before he gets out. If his past keeps cathching up with him, then its time to run faster. Know what I mean??? Tell him to take a different route in life so it wont "CATCH" him again.

If you love him then waiting 3 to 6 months will not hurt you. I thought you were talking years. Now if he has like years into his sentencing then no.....don't put your life on hold for him. You have to live for you then, he would not be out here helping to support you so why wait that long?
If it is just 3 or 6 months that will go by so fast just be true to yourself.

3-6 months is pretty low key. And at least you know he won't be cheating on you. Visit him every week and write a few letters. You'll be fine.
EDIT: To the person below me: Gay rape in prison is extremely, extremely rare these days (ESPECIALLY minimum security facilities, where a 3-6 month term would likely be served). Learn your facts before you make blanket statements.

It's not that long, you can wait it out. Visit him 4-5 times a week, if not every day. He needs someone to lean on, since he can't depend on his family. You really love him, and he really trusts you. Stick with him.

Be sure to have him tested for STDs when he gets home... not implying that he'd be seeking gay sex while incarcerated, but gay sex may find him. Way too many women (especially Black women) get infected with HIV after dealing with men that have been imprisoned.

if he has committed a serious crime then there is no point waiting for him. just forget him. try a new venture. enjoy the life!
