When you drive by the Nabisco factory in NE Philly, and the wind is blowing right, it smells like yummy animal crackers.
That helps counteract the sewage treatment smell you get near the Philly airport sometimes.
As for foods, I think of cheesesteaks, soft pretzels, and tastycakes as popular regional favorites.

The smell of cheese steaks, the hustle and traffic of down town, the spray of the fountain in love park in the summer time, seeing people run up the art museum steps like Rocky from my office window, getting hot soft pretzels from federal street, see the commuters in the morning and night on the subway.. everyone feels each others pain. they guy playing that crazy tune on his recorder trying to make a few bucks in the station. 30th street station on fridays, the smell of the jamaican food trucks.
