I'm researching WWII in Sussex, and if anyone knows of any great places to start my research, your help would be much appreciated. I live in Brighton but anywhere surrounding that area is fine. Thanks

Hi Andrea, I'm from sussex too (very near Brighton!!) I found some websites that might help you with your research. In actual fact... someone I know's Grandad flew a Spitfire in the war and it crashed in a lake somewhere near here (can't remember where unfortunately) but his son rescued the wreckage for him and he has the wing in his garage now!! hehe. yes there is a spit went down about 3 miles from Turners hill. My father was an fighter controller at Biggin hill prior to him going to Eygpt.
It is about a mile from worth abbey and he showed me the place it went down.
