Try to memorize a sequence of numbers, as long as you can. Keep trying to memorize more. This will greatly improve your memory all around.

I have also heard that doing puzzles like Sudoku help.

We all forget things, and sometimes we just have so much on our mind, that it's just too difficult to cram all this information in our heads! The good news is that there are several ways which we can boost our memories:

1) Reduce stress: Stress is correlated with reduced memory cells, so do some deep breathing, yoga, or meditation, and don't forget to laugh!
2) Practice mental aerobics: Always try to boost new neural connections. Try cross-word puzzles, brain teasers, etc.
3) Keep a "healthy brain" diet: Watch your calorie intake and amount of carbs; eat healthy fats, like Omega 3s, and foods that are rich in anti-oxidants.
4) Get active: Exercise, exercise, exercise! It has been shown that physical activity improves brain health.
5) Keep memory strong throughout the year: Practice the above year round, and make sure to get plenty of rest, don't smoke, get organized, and enjoy life!

One thing that has really helped me is writing it down. You can buy a planner and it will help you get organized and remeber important days and times as well as addresses, phone numbers and so much more.

Use a calander and cross the days off as you go along and making list of things you need to remeber can be a good reminder as well.

Sometimes relating a name to something familiar will help you remeber names of people or things.

Getting atleast 8 hours of sleep, taking a shower to refresh you and relax. Taking a B-vitamin complex can make a very big difference and walking 15 minutes a day or running can help.

If these things do not seem to help and it is more serious than I recommend seeing a doctor. good luck.
