I just don't get it. It's ugly and could ruin the sport.

Most of the fans dont like it and alot of the drivers don't like it either. It looks like something you would see racing in F1, and I hate the rear wing and front splitter. I know their are alot of safety improvements that benefit the driver greatly but I still don't like it. Supposedly its suppossed to run faster and be safer for the drivers which I don't doubt. Also its suppossed to lower production costs for the owners as its not cheap, especially this year since they have to manufacter both cars. I just don't like the car itself and the fact they are getting rid of the Chevy Monte Carlo as it was my favorite Chevy car of all times. I really like the Monte Carlo as it runs alot better and its what Chevy has used for a really long time. I like the concept just not hte actual car and design.

The COT is all a part of an evolving sport. If NASCAR didn't make rule changes now and then, the sport would become stagnant. Everyone will eventually figure out how to make their car work well. The changes help to keep crews and teams "on their toes" and not continually refine the existing car.

We'll see if this car is the right direction for NASCAR to go or not, but I applaud them for trying be innovative and keep the sport interesting. We'll all adapt to how the car looks.

I personally don't like the idea of a perfectly uniformed NASCAR racing machine across all teams and drivers. Granted, it separates the good drivers from the not so good, but it also stifles innovation in the sport. Back when stock cars really WERE stock, it was up to the crews to come up with the newest and latest tweaks that would get that extra few horses out of the engines and extra speed out of the chassis.

Now they restrict speed at the superspeedways, and impose all these rules and regs in an attempt to 'equalize' the field. I understand that driver safety is a major factor in a lot of those regs, but these guys understand that there's danger involved in their sport.
I say, let these teams innovate and design to their heart's content. There's enough sponsor money spread across all teams that no one team would dominate solely due to financial backing. Let em make those puppies run as fast as they can...

I don't know yet... Give it a year or 2. I really hope that it's not, because this is where NASCAR is heading and a setback wouldn't be good for the sport. A failure would do nothing but make NASCAR reconsider there approach @ the car, and then they would just change the schematics. Since this is how it's going to be... I really hope the car improves the racing!

Lets see how it races.I doubt if it will ruin the sport. My guess is that we will eventually get used to the UGLY BASTARD.But it sure is goofy looking. We need to remember the MAIN reason for this CLUSTERF#CK and that is driver safety.Moving the driver closer to the center of the car will no doubt make it safer in a side impact.

I don't know how it will be until after Sunday's race. I don't understand why NASCAR feels they have to change the rules all the time. I did not like the Chase at first but changed my mind when I saw it work. There was strategy to get there and the Busch won by 8 points. I don't like the COT now but my opinion might change.

I think its like everything else we will get use to it eventually. You have to applaud Nascar for trying to think of everything possibe for Safety being first for the drivers. Lord knows we don't want to lose anymore drivers. As far as older ones that remember Nascar being stock car we can forget them days it will never be stock again witch in a way it never was anyways.

Right now I don't like it at all, but I don't think that its a big mistake, its not gonna be easy getting used to it, but in about
four or five years it will be like nothing even happend.

It's safer, it has a wing( maybe now it can have some downforce) and they are all on the same playing field. NASCAR is almost a spec series anyway, just make them use the same motor too.

They're not out there for beauty. I'm not sure how I feel about them. Guess we're spoiled. Maybe we should watch a few more races and see what happens.
