First hand?
I'm curious as to what your personal experiences have been with the supernatural:
Have you ever seen or heard a demon's voice, have you been touched by a demon or seen Satan?
Ghosts? spirits? objects moving by themselves?

Can you give an eyewitness account of anything supernatural occurring at all?

And why haven't any atheists experienced this?

Some may not think my experience was supernatural but others will admit is that it was freaky. I've witnessed a possesion but it was no where near what you see in movies or TV.

My roommate at the time and I went to a college retreat during the summer. One night during a service, he fell silent and could not move. Because we didn't want to hinder the service or embarass my roommate, many friends, the presiding pastor, and I moved him to a small room. He could not move himself and couldn't even speak. He only mumbled once remarking that he wasn't worthy of God's grace. The rest of us prayed for maybe 2 hours before he snapped out of it. My roommate is a big, strong guy in very good shape; but after the ordeal he was not able to move even his fingers, his strength was completely sapped. About four of us had to carry this 250 lb guy to a couch and then shlep him on our shoulders to get him back to the cabin.

I'm a very scientific kind of guy but I do believe in the supernatural. To answer why atheists don't see this kind of phenomonon is that Satan doesn't need to deter atheists from God. You can almost make an equation of the likelihood of seeing things like a possesion. The stronger the faith of the person, the more likely it's going to be shaken. Again, this is just a likelihood and not a must.

Two anecdotes I can leave is first, the greatest accomplishment Satan has done is convince people he doesn't exist. Hence atheist do not need to be swayed away. Second is kind of a story of Martin Luther (Protestant founder). Once he was sleeping and felt a strange presence. He woke and lit a candle. Sure enough, Satan was sitting right by Martin Luther's bedside. Martin Luther said, "Oh, it's only you" blew out the candle and went back to sleep. To me, this is the kind of faith I strive for.

I'm a Christian and I do believe in God and the Devil. If ever I see the devil, I might not even know it. No one knows how the devil looks like. I also thinks it heavily depends on culture. For example, I from the Philippines and things such as ghosts and spirits stories are not that rare. ( I do believe these are true) If we compare this to US, we will get so much differences.

I think that if "ghost situations" occure here in US, peiople are most likely to say it's supernatural but a mental disorder like shizoprenia.

I did experience ghost appearances personally and I do believe in them.

Fo Atheists, it is the same with people's judgement here in US. They try to explain things scientifically.

Not first hand, but have you heard of people like Jeffrey Dahmer? What about Charles Manson? Those are a few of many that I believe are demon possessed. I don't agree you have to be drooling and frothing at the mouth like the girl on the Excorcist to be possessed. That is a big misconception. There is a bad spirit for everything evil and they each have a name.

exciting question. it extremely is what my father, a Baptist preacher has informed me. He has visited with individuals who've psychological ailment and a few are comforted with the help of Him analyzing Scripture and others at the instant are not. So, for the reason that some Christians of course have psychological ailment, i does no longer evaluate this to be demon possession. Now, in spite of if interior the Bible era they understood psychological ailment as demon possession, I additionally do no longer think of it extremely is accessible, because of fact the "legion" spoke to Jesus in the previous they went into the swine. psychological ailment isn't contagious like that. they're even have info that some psychological ailment is hereditary. No, i think of psychological ailment and demon possession are 2 separate themes. I base this frequently on the actual incontrovertible fact that medicine seems to be effective with psychological ailment.

Ive seen the possessed and only at the name of Jesus Christ could the devil stop.

In mostly all noted exorcism cases did the priest have to come to plead the name of Jesus Christ so that the demons could flee the possessed. Only at the name of Jesus Christ can demons be cast out!!!

I have to have my Bishop's permission to do an exorcism - and I've never had to ask him.

Came close once. This couple and their young toddler boy. I was pretty convinced. Then - I asked the $64,000.00 question:

"Hey - was he ever Baptized?" He had not been. So we Baptized him - and all symptoms stopped.

Never seen what I would call a genuine possession - but I know a few clergymen who have.

..but atheists have.

Anthropologists who study demon possession see rites like exorcism across cultures- but many of the "demons" aren't called "demons," and are cast out in names OTHER THAN the name of Christ.

Why are we expected to think, with this information, that Christianity is special?

Demons do not manifest themselves for overt evil. their work will look very good and be something people will agree with but in the end serve only evil. their tool is deception. last known sighting GWB.
