Why do so many people insult those of us who can not spell? It is not our fault if we have learning disorders. Personaly i am rather sick of being told that i am not inteligent because i can not spell. That is why i got a 87 on my ASFAB (millitary testing) I think it is very rude and disrespectful when people insult other people who have some type of learning disability. I belive it's because of people like that alot of our children who are also in some way shape or form learning disabled do not strive to be the best they can be and over come their disorder. Anyways i was wondering what other people thought on this subject.

Are you talking about in real life or here on Yahoo Answers? In real life, I have no idea. I've never made fun of someone just because they couldn't spell and I wouldn't because I know that there are a lot of learning disorders. As for Yahoo Answers, that's a different story. I will point out someone's spelling errors with no shame. There is a check spelling button right above where you type in everything. So there really is no excuse for bad spelling. And I only say something about the ones that are REALLY bad. Like every word or every other word is miss-spelled. Your's isn't really bad. I've seen much worse.

I completely agree with you. Although I have never been insulted on here for spelling, I have saw so many replies to peoples questions that have just been complete rude insults on their spelling..it's ridiculous, if you don't have anything nice to say and are not talking about the subject to their question then it's simple..DONT REPLY TO THEIR QUESTION. Thankfully, now they do offer a spell check so spelling mistakes can be avoided.

I think some people have to make fun of others to feel good about themselves. It is a self esteem issue on THEIR part, not yours. Don't worry about it. I may not have a learning disorder, but I still mis-spell things or *gasp* even hit the wrong keyboard key! I know! Shame on me! lol
I just sluff it off when people rant about a mis-spelled question. I think they do that because they don't know the answer and just want to look humorous!

I totally understand what you are saying.... I am a middle school teacher and I am dyslexic - can't spell to save my life! However, with all of the SPELL CHECK devices out there.... I do my best NOT to misspell words or use similar ones that don't make me look UN-intelligent!

Good Luck - and I don't think people who are NOT good spellers are Stupid!

I agree with you. We all have mis-typed or have spelled things wrong some where down the line. It is no big deal with me if I can read it I don't care if you spell any words wrong .

i agree with you ..my daughter is dyslexic (don't know if i spelled it right) and some people think she isn't that smart. The fact of the matter is, is that they are wrong...she is very intelligent. People need to lighten up a little! As if spelling makes us who we are!!
