There are numerous things which can be the problem.Depending on the age of the bird the diet its location.Other animals which could have come in contact with it,it could be pneumonia a cold and the list goes on.I'd recommend if you really want to know call a veterinarian generally the best thing you can do for a sick chicken is isolate it keep it warm make water and a little amount of feed available and let it be.

Chickens are susceptible to a wide variety of diseases and problems.

There's a chance she accidentally flew into something and gave herself a concussion. There's also a chance that she has salmonella (which can cause a loss of balance) or some similar disease.

Best bet is to take her to the vet and get a blood workup. If she's sick, you'll want to stop the disease before it affects others in the flock.

if one side is affected she may have had a stroke. I dont know if thats common in chickens. She may just have hurt her wing, that will put her a bit off balance too but should not affect her just standing or walking .

She may recover some on her own .

Dont eat her if you dont know what caused the illness, not that you would eat a pet anyway.

They do have strokes and it causes them to not be able to walk. Or they will use their wings for balance.
If you can strech out the wing and it moves ok and all the bones seem to be inline she may have had some type of a stroke. Most do not get better after something like this.

Sounds like a broken wing. They can heal themselves and since she doesn't have to fly, it doesn't matter if it doesn't heal exactly right. Just make sure she's got good access to calcium in the form of oyster shell so she can mend her wing even though she might be laying eggs.

maybe the rooster has been a bit rough with her.

separate her while she gets her strength back.

check to see if she is eating properly by feeling her crop.
