My wife didn't do anything, and 2 days after she fully stoped nursing, the milk was gone ... I think the more the baby nurses the more milk you make so if you don't nurse, the milk just dries up on its own.

I nursed all four of my children, three until self-weaning. It hurt like mad to suddenly stop nursing, and my lactation consultant told me to avoid hot showers (they would release the milk and stimulate production of more milk). She said to wear a bra 24/7 until the milk was dried up. And to use cabbage leaves.
Apparently the cabbage leaves have an enzyme in them that transfers through your skin and tells your milk ducts to stop producing milk. You just use the big leaves on the outside and they naturally cup your breast. Place them inside of your bra and check them in an hour or two. Replace any that are withered. Keep fresh cabbage leaves against your breasts at all times for at least a day, perhaps two, and you will dry up completely.
Avoid nipple stimulation, and do not use hot compresses! These will cause letdown and then your body will think that you need to produce more milk. If it gets painful from the engorgement and the cabbage leaves don't work (your doctor will tell you about the cabbage leaf trick as well, most likely), see your physician. There used to be an injection that they could give that would cease milk production, but I am unsure if they still use it.

After i had my daughter my mom told me to use cabbage leaves to dry up the milk, you may think that it sounds weird but it worked. go to th egrocery store buy a whole cabbage and put it in the fridge, place one leaf in each side of your braw, and in a couple days your milk should be dry.
You might also want to try a warm towel over them, very often

Stop nursing and (sorry if this is getting too personal) tell your hubby that boobie foreplay and nipple stimulation is off limits until you dry up. Any sort of consistent activity in the vicinity will stimulate milk production.

Caffiene is known to reduce milk supply but it might be because sodas aren't as hydrating as other drinks. I've never heard the cabbage remedy before but with baby #2 I might give it a go.
Good luck

When I weaned my eldest, I just cut out feeding times gradually. By the time I weaned her completely, she was only feeding about once a day. I never had any problems with engorgement that way as we reduced gradually.

Believe it or not, tuck raw cabbage leaves in your bra and it will help. It not only dries up your milk, but the cold leaves helps relieve the pain from engorgment. When the leaf wilts, remove it and replace with another.
Good luck. Also the birth control pill helps stop your milk.

I used Sage Tea. Usually available in healthfood stores or markets. You will need to sugar it up if you like sweet tea. But it really worked for me. Took about 4 days so Tylenol will still be needed.
