Far too many come to mind. The crusades to save the "holy land" from the "unbelievers" is a place to start. Then there are all the Inquisitions and witch hunts. Lately in the Middle East there have been terrorist attacks and suicide bombing done by the claimed to be righteous. Then if memory serves there have been much smaller scale evils also done in the name of good and "God". Things like abusing children to death to save them.

The world will look nicer when more speak up against these acts.

Not as many as people who like you to believe.

For example, during the Crudaes, about 1 million people (Muslims, Jews and Christians) died in the 11th century (the worst of the 7 centuries the fighting covered). Most during the Fall of Jerusalem in July of 1095.

Compare that to the 18.8 million that most historicans believe were killed by the atheist governments of Russian, China, Northe Korea, North Vietnam and Cuba in the 20th century. That give the athesit a nearly a 19:1 killing ratio victory over the worst that has been done by religion.

Christianity, on the other hand, can take credit for the development of the first public school system, orphanages, the first modern hospitals, retirement homes, foundling homes (for placing the babies of unwed mothers), soup kitchens and rescue missions to aid the poor, the founding of both the Red Cross and the Salvation Army which have saved untold millions of lives in times of disaster. Habitat for Humanity began as a Christian group.

People rarely list the number of wars and conflicts that were avoided or resolved because of church (usually Papel) intervention between kingdoms and rulers.

They have feed the needy, clothe the naked, helped in time of disaster, provided medicine and care in time of plague and disease, provided free medical care to underdeveloped countries around the world, build homes, schools and orphanages for thousands. It was religious revival that lead to the abolishing of slavery in England and the British Empire. It was Christians minister like Martin Luther King who were at the forefront of the civil rights movement.

The Christian church has an unmatched record for charity and good works. The world would be in much worst shape without it.

When someone thinks themselves to be righteous, it is the greatest mistake and perhaps the greatest evil that can happen. Those types of people may do anything. That's the type of people that killed Jesus. They blow themselves up in public.

Really righteous people know that the truth is they are far from righteousness themselves. Their righteousness comes from the only righteous one - God.

Because Satan started it with his jealousy of the Lord and he is pure evil and the father of all lies. He wanted all the powers that God has and wanted to be worshiped by all the angels like God was. He hated the idea that angels were to serve mankind after they entered Heaven. Satan (first named Lucifer) finds our weaknesses and uses them to his advantage to tempt us to sin. If he see us with envy and pride, he will make things embellished around us and our ego grows and grows. We think we are doing good but we are slowly ignoring the Lord and focusing on earthly goods and ourselves only. Satan blinds us and we become evil without acknowledging it to ourelves. Does that make sense?

It all within the 7 deadly sins: pride, greed, envy, anger, lust, gluttony and sloth. These things start out little but if we don't nip them in the bud early on, they slowly grow like an infection and over time they have invaded our entire life and we are immune to them. The only defense is to keep God your focus at all time.

Probably because where there is virtue, there the Evil One tempts all that much more. He loves it when good people fail so miserably.

too often. There are too many examples to give. Statistically though there are more men killed in the name of religion than anything else.
